Disagree with the conclusions sure but don't claim I didn't show the comparisons

You can quibble with the differential chart, but I did in fact make the both parties chart (that you included in your post!) specifically to support the discussion of how both parties are under 50% on everything.
That’s not what this data says — 43% said none of the above Ds vs 36% for Rs. Plus her chart makes it look like respondents were given a choice between Dems & Reps when they were in fact asked as two separate questions. Her chart just shows the differential. Highly misleading.

The answer seems to be "not a very good one". Full writeup here! https://t.co/38ZJQ5jyR8

A topic of particular interest at Searchlight is how Americans engage with the two major parties. We’re curious about what draws people to each party, and what they believe each party does best.

This goes way beyond policy choices, into vibes and impressions. The reason I asked this question is to try and figure out the intangibles: what sort of life do Americans think each party is promoting?

There's a bunch of skepticism that *either* party wants you to have the markers of a good life, but it's worse for Democrats, and bad even among Democratic voters

I really think in cases where law enforcement shot someone and the accounts of what's on the body camera footage differ this dramatically the footage should be released to the public immediately.
“Body-camera video of a Border Patrol agent involved in the shooting of a woman who was allegedly chasing agents in Brighton Park over the weekend shows an officer saying, “Do something, b----,” before pulling over and shooting the woman 5 times” https://t.co/sWzL7aKCNE

Also am I losing my mind or does this graph have summed post/neg labels for AOC and Democrats switched?

Fwiw that "missing Biden voters" thing is overstated, but also, the favorability for "Democrats in Congress" here is up there with AOC. These voters think Democrats are good and don't care about these infighting beefs
fwiw here's a poll of the people who voted for Biden in 2020 and stayed home in 2024 (ie a big reason we lost).

Today: arguing that Sherrill might lose in NJ, and also why you probably shouldn't put too much faith in that guess (or any guess). Come stare at graphs, on the blog

“Fuck them kids” laughed the ICE agent zip tying children together in the dead of night.
ICE rappel from Black Hawk helicopters—detain U.S. citizens. Grab everyone at apartment complex—even zip tie the children together. "They had the Black people in one van, and immigrants in another van," said witness. "One agent literally laughed... He said, 'F them kids.'"

Democrats are fighting to preserve an Obamacare tax credit. Without it, a 55-year-old couple making $85K would see their premiums more than triple to $24,535.

Id read this as "Americans view both parties as equally extreme" which is not *good* news for Democrats given that *gestures at the entire Republican party*
If you ask the American people whether they think the Democrats or Republicans have moved too far to the left/right, roughly equal shares say yes about both parties. It's simply not the case that the American people view Dems as too ideologically extreme compared to Reps

Hell, some of my criticism of the stollerite crowd would be their *lack* of interest in women's priorities

Faux women's empowerment small business/MLM bullshit is a totally different strain of thought than the mom and pop obsessed anti trust line

While I think a lot of this article is really good, the framing of the "#bossbabe" as the face of anti trust small business advocacy is a bit icky
