💖 I'm sponsoring @msys2org because it's the best system for developing open source software on Windows. It's maintained by a bunch of volunteers who mostly don't get paid, until now.

FFMPEG: We are awesome programmers who learn assembly so we can speed up our software by 10x. You can learn too! Also @FFMPEG: Don't report bugs, you will make us sad and we might quit.

CMake by itself is fine, but it attracts people who are in love with complexity. I've seen projects that would rather run hundreds of lines of complex CMake code to detect Python (and get the wrong result), than just run "python3" in a shell. https://t.co/xHKLxBrkfj

@mcuban I see Mr. Cuban has discovered a brand-new ‘right.’ He has rummaged through the attic of human liberty, past free speech, past property, past the right to be left alone, and pulled out a shiny new bauble: the right to other people’s labor. He calls it healthcare. Now, there’s a

If you’re decent at math, becoming an actuary is a cheat code for joining the upper middle class. $250-300k in your early 30s if you’re willing to study for the exams (which are challenging but not unreasonably hard). 40 hour workweek most places. Ivy League MBA not required.

Hating billionaires while relying on their taxes is like cursing the well while drinking the water. In a free market, more wealth means more people served, more problems solved, and more opportunities created. You don’t poison the well that keeps the whole town alive.

The smallest minority is the individual. Rights don’t belong to groups, they belong to people. And yes, the rich are a minority too. If rights are real, they don’t vanish the second the mob resents you for having more. As Rand put it: ‘The smallest minority on earth is the

@RockChartrand Majority rule w/ protection for minority rights. That's why we have the Bill of Rights. That's why we have the Civil Rights laws. That's why we have checks and balances. All of which are under massive attack from people who vote the same way that I am guessing you vote.

@SenSanders The United States as a nation should respect inheritance. Not for the sake of those who inherit money - little sympathy there - but for the sake of giving those who earned it the dispensation to say what they want done with it. By the time you're taxing someone's death, you've

I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.

I read this article about software development, which I knew about because I saw Prime reacting to it: https://t.co/9M2qrtPd61 For the most part I think it is fine: a relatively young programmer is doing the healthy work of introspecting on what he should really be doing. But
