No mistaking this UK orchid - the coastal form of Early Marsh Orchid (Dactylorhiza incarnata var. coccinea). They glow exceptionally in the June sunshine - these ones are from a magical visit to Brauntons Burrows on 11.06.23.

Last night I came across a huge number of Heath Spotted Orchids on Dartmoor and stayed until low light. The Beautiful Demoiselle was a wonderful find, illuminated out of the shadows with 2 small LED panels. #wildflowerhour @BSBIbotany @ukorchids @Britainsorchids @CanonUKandIE

15/5/23 Northern England - I forced myself out this evening and it’s safe to say it was the best decision I’ve taken in ages. My daughter and I sat with this amazing Lady’s Slipper #Orchid (Cypripedium calceolus) for over an hour #wildflowerhour

I couldn't even find a Lady Orchid, or a Monkey that didn't look like it was a hybrid, which is a shame. Also great to meet fellow orchid hunter @HamzNobes - we had a great chat in the rain.

Thirteen years ago when I first saw the Monkey x Lady Orchid hybrid in Oxfordshire, there was just one - now there are over 60. So impressive! Shot with the long lens to protect habitat. #wildflowerhour @BSBIbotany @ukorchids @Britainsorchids @EuropeanOrchids @CanonUKandIE

Fantastic find of this very rare species in the UK
Artomyces pyxidata Candelabra Coral Picked up during survey work at Hounslow Heath yesterday. A very rare species in Britain, fruiting on decorticated, well rotten, deciduous logs, currently of unknown origin. It had 1st been recorded from the same spot in 2022. New to Middlesex
