You know, I didn’t set out to find spiders, I found them while trying to find myself. And in the quiet patience of their world, I began to understand my own.

A potential female Anyphaena numida at Holkham yesterday. Potential first for the county. What do you think @Tone_Killick @BritishSpiders? pic taken with flash, I'll take some in natural light tomorrow. Very pale on dorsal side lacking in the dark tracheal spiracle.@arableplants

the suspense...🕷💚🍃
The Ero aphana egg sac found recently suspended from a garden fence rail has developed a shadow. It would be exciting to see pirate spiderlings emerge but with the light behind this shape looks ominously like a parasitoid. Gelis wasp spp are reported from Ero egg sacs...🕷💚🍃

Sadly when I returned yesterday the Buzzing Spider female was nowhere to be seen, but I did find another pic on my phone which is perhaps slightly clearer. The species gets its common name from the male's behaviour of vibrating his body against the leaf during courtship🕷💚🍃
A chance meeting (my first) with a Buzzing Spider (Anyphaena accentuata) this afternoon. Thought its hazel leaf retreat must be the mesh web of Nigma but out popped this beauty instead! Will return in better light to try for more pics. Bransford, Worcs.🕷💚🍃

https://t.co/4vNwMQQVyk
