This is a tragic and devastating loss to UCL, the Royal Free Hospital, RaDaR and the renal community everywhere. It is a particular loss to his patients for whom he was such a champion. My thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family at this terrible time.
We are heartbroken to announce that Prof (Stephen) Ben Walsh, died peacefully on 30th Sept while surrounded by family & friends. Both his family & @RenalUCL are raising funds to find a way to honour his memory and achievements. More info below: https://t.co/aehrXRNkF8 Ben's

In 2001 KDOQI said all kidney patients had the same disease, CKD, and we should differentiate them based solely on GFR. This was never true, and this study does a wonderful job exposing the lie. #nephjc (Me channeling @melhoenig who taught me this)
