100%. Larry & Sergey always knew 10 blue links were merely a waypoint en route to answers. But as query growth slowed - ad load increased - and the machine gushed $$. Now the whole $GOOG machine is geared to more paid clicks - which must actually be attacked to win at answers.
Using both ChatGPT and Google in parallel has shown me what percent of the time I'm looking for an answer rather than a resource of some kind, and the result looks bad for Google. I'm almost always looking for answers.
