It’s primary season, and DC 37 members are knocking on doors, talking to voters about who’s on the ballot and what’s at stake for working families in NYC. The deadline to register to vote in the NYC Primary is Saturday, June 14.

DC 37 proudly supports the Fostering Affordability and Integrity through Reasonable Business Practices, or FAIR Business Practices Act. The bill aims to protect consumers and small businesses from unfair and abusive business practices.

Today, I was in Albany with Senator @LeroyComrie, Assemblymember @MicahLasher, and New Yorkers to talk about the importance of passing the FAIR Business Practices Act.   We need this bill to protect small businesses and working families from unfair and abusive business practices.

New York’s consumer protection laws haven't been strengthened in 45 years, and as the federal government steps back from protecting small businesses and hardworking people, we need real action. I look forward to working with my partners in the Legislature to get this passed.

The Commission held a public hearing at Restoration Plaza focused on government accountability. Where testimony was heard from multiple government representatives and community members as to how else we can help shape a more transparent and responsive government in New York City.
