From @GBRailfreight - this week 99001/002 will undertake route compatibility testing between Leicester, Wellingborough, North London, Acton and to/from Bristol and Cardiff on the MML/GWML. They will operate in both diesel and electric modes.

Nine 5-car tri-modes will be introduced by @GC_Rail from 2028. Built by @HitachiRailENG at Newton Aycliffe, the new fleet will be funded by Angel Trains. This follows the decision to approve GC access rights until 2038.

End-on view of the #HS2 Wendover Dean Viaduct from the south. You can get this view from the diversionary footpath around the Bowood Lane crossing, but it will not last long, as soon the Bowood Lane overbridge is now complete and the footpath will presumably be directed over it.

First refurbished @CrossCountryUK 170! It's good - a smart and elegant design that feels quite office like, in contrast to the old interior. Seats are well raked and comfortable, though it would have been nice to have the declassified section's slightly nicer cushions throughout.

This is the best summary of the current geopolitical situation I have seen. Sir Alex Younger was head of MI6 between 2014 and 2020. Really worth watching.
