Our 60th anniversary celebrations continue - this month we are going back to the 90s. ⏪ . In 1999, Freightliner Heavy Haul was established and began moving bulk freight by rail and operated as a separate entity from the rest of the Freightliner Group for over a decade. (1/2)

The train which ran on Monday 9th June is the heaviest train to ever leave Dowlow Quarry at a total of 22 wagons and an estimated 1,650 tonnes of material conveyed. The #Freightliner team are delivering the aggregates to a new rail site in Grimsby. (2/3).

1995 was also the year that Freightliner was privatised - the business transformed and set about making its locomotives more reliable and investing in Class 66 locomotives, some of which were delivered in 1999 allowing for diversification of Heavy Haul traffic. #Freightliner60.
