Small biz has suffered over the past year, but more help is on the way. Under a grant from Steve Cohen and with the help of @QnsBPRichards, @NYCEDC and community partners, qualified Queens small businesses can get up to $20,000 for operating costs.

Amazing what Barcelona is doing. Imagine if Community Board One Queens hadn't shot down the proposal for Newtown Triangle 7 years ago, despite overwhelming public support. I was one of 7 who voted for it. What a missed opportunity - it's time to create new ones.

Barcelona: converting one in 3 of its streets into small parks. 21 new plazas like the one pictured will be made at road junctions. Safe outdoor space within 200 metres of all homes that cater to pedestrians, offer shaded spaces in summer & facilitate spontaneous children's play.
