Enjoying some educational research on PhD supervision and this is a great oldish piece. Impressive sample to show that indeed the biggest determinant for PhD satisfation is the supportive supervisor as shown by the grad students. Be midful out there!

Provocative study suggesting that ablation of endocrine cells except b cells does not affect insulin secretion. Looking at the data: plasma glucagon is not drastically reduced and non beta cells do not regenerate after ablation.Good to spark discussions!

Really thoughtful piece on how we tend to simplify evo devo explanations/mechanisms of much more complicated evolutionary phenomena in pursuit of genetic explanations of traits

Especially with the USA elections coming up, the For You page and the Following twitter page say two completely different things. It is amazing how easy it is to see the efforts to manipulate truth and facts, one should do research on this.

The Farber lab @stefarber is in the middle of a #zebrafish ENU screen and we came across a family with a phenotype similar to the Janus mutant ( https://t.co/PzicEZPfBk). If anyone is interested in studying/obtaining this mutant family, please get in touch with us.

We report many proteins not predicted by the genetic code. They are stable & abundant O( 10³ ) copies / cell. Generative mechanisms include codon-anticodon mismatches & RNA modifications. Their abundance depends on codon frequency & protein stability. https://t.co/lAxvulC4zx
