One hour Waymo ride from San Francisco to Menlo Park via highway 280. It’s over, cars are self-driving. Everything else is just about rolling this out to the rest of the world.

I have a guest essay in @nytimes today about autonomous vehicle safety. I wrote it because I’m tired of seeing children die. Done right, we can eliminate car crashes as a leading cause of death in the United States @Waymo recently released data covering nearly 100 million

Having seen pretty much everything in politics I’ve been surprised by how ineptly No10 are handling what should be an internal crisis. They’ve created more instability, shown a lack of confidence in their own Budget & identified a potential successor for all to see. Bizarre!

Stamp duty abolished. £100k off business rates for the high street. 20% off everybody’s electricity bills. British benefits for British people. Motability only for serious disability. Deporting foreign criminals. Policing crime, not speech. Good stuff.

Hello, what figures are you using? Ed bought wind at £82/MWh last year and is set to pay up to £117/MWh this year. That’s before all the extra costs, and on twenty year contracts. Gas is £55/MWh. Our children will pay the price of fools who put ideology before cheap energy.

Fair play to @coyleneil MP I’m happy to criticise Labour & its MPs for their many failings but I truly admire any MP who does their job properly. Today he was out & about in his constituency, met a family member of mine with an issue & took it to the council within 2hrs. Class!

First came ID cards, but there is no point to ID cards unless they’re being checked. Check points in the UK that stop people going about their own business. If this about stopping illegal immigrants all @KeirStammer needs do is get his lawyer mates allow us to police our border.

Home secretary suffers humiliating defeat — refused permission even to appeal against the blocking of an Eritrean migrant’s deportation to France under the one in, one out scheme. Labour in opposition cheered on the courts when a Tory government was similarly thwarted by the

"If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” The world has lost a principled man who advocated for free speech and debate and in doing so helped strengthen democracy. RIP Charlie Kirk.

There are no words good enough to express the horror of this. The killing of Charlie Kirk is a blow to everything Western civilization stands for: open discourse, robust debate and peaceful dissent. He lived his life by those very principles, no matter the danger it put him in.

The murder of Charlie Kirk is a tragedy, and a sign of the utter desperation and cowardice of those who could not defeat him in argument. Charlie Kirk has been killed not for espousing extremist views - because he didn’t. He has been killed for saying things that used to be
