My husband just said "I really dislike when restaurants don't list the desserts on the main menu. I need to know what I'm working toward from the beginning." We love a man who plans.

My first in a series of gender affirming care guides that distill expert insurance and healthcare advice into one (hopefully lol) accessible resource. Getting this care is simply acrobatic, even in a state with healthcare protections like Washington! https://t.co/fTmcOD6Z24

This guide is for the transfemmes in Seattle and in Washington state who want gender affirmation surgery.

Today is day 1 post-op from back surgery #2. 🛠️🔩 13 years ago I had my first on the same L4-5. A lot has changed in 13 years both personally, and medicine wise. This is a smaller scar, less invasive, etc. Feeling very grateful for all who have cared for and checked in on me.

Did you know that Ruth Handler who invented #Barbie also invented the first silicone breast prosthetic after her mastectomy in 1970?

It only cost me €25 to go to the hospital in rural France, be seen, and fill an Rx today. 😱 The MD and pharmacist felt bad that I had to pay that much! Context: severe back and nerve pain, needed 12 pills to bridge a gap until returning home where I have more Rx by my PCP.

I spoke to @LashNolen about what affirmative action has meant to her, and about the wider impact of the Supreme Court ruling on medical education and a post-affirmative action America. Q&A lightly edited for length & clarity. Thank you Lash. For @statnews

When I was reunited with my partner I had a handhold, hugs, and eyes of concern waiting to whisk me away to safety. ❤️ That’s partnership. That’s love. That’s exactly what I needed. Today we learned not to be split into separate lines for future trips. /9

TSA pre-check is one of the best things I’ve ever done in order to skip the body scanner though, and I do highly recommend it. I wasn’t surprised that today’s events happened but I was let down that they did. /8
