Even a single cell can learn, but this research was a collaboration among many cells in many brains. s/o to co-authors @AsaKalish @kathyacorreaa @scientistbrenda @AthenaUCSF @KbSci @mmslabodnick and more for all the brain cells working together to learn how cells learn. 10/n

Delighted to announce our new paper on single-celled learning, In which we show that the gradual habituation to mechanical stimulation seen in groups of Stentor results from step-like responses in individual cells. https://t.co/wihd1N7EFP

@Synchangel They are SO charismatic! We're starting a "Stentor in Every School" initiative to bring these cells to classrooms across SF, since kids seem to love Stentor and they are a gateway to exploring nature in general @kathyacorreaa @scientistbrenda @c3STC

How do cells heal injuries and repair wounds? Cutting cells is the first step to studying the extremely important process of wound healing! We are excited to share our recently published work where we cut Stentor coeruleus cells using fluid flow. (1/6)
