Masai is a genius. Kawhi is a superstar. Kyle is an inspiration. Fred Sr is a folk hero. Nick Nurse is a Jedi. The whole damn team is freaking legendary now!

When I was 8 years old, I would run around the halls of Q107. And believe me when I say: In 1978, almost all DJs were exactly like Johnny Fever.

Twitter is at a place where I honestly don’t know if half of it is parody, or some kind of living theatre experiment. I walked my dog here yesterday: Lord, nothing beats being outside.
Thank you all for your kind words about my dad, Bob Sr. He was a generational thinker, and a very kind, warm and generous man. He is my hero.
We will really miss him. He truly lived a wonderful life.
She is quietly, extraordinarily awful. I think judging people that you disagree with is often betrays a lack of imagination. But sometimes, the other person just sucks so bad there's nothing left but to say..."You're the worst".
My baba and Gigi came to Canada with nothing, didn't speak English, had two kids under 8 and had both just survived a war. When times were tough ( and good ) they played cards. That's my suggestion. We all need to play more cards.
Bookie is the real thing. Our city owes him so much. One the best people, please send him good karma and wishes. When he recovers, let's let him see that a whole city loves him.

When politicians tell you we should run government like a business, remind them how often big corporations run to the government for public assistance whenever they face “business problems”.
I need to look this over more closely. There's probably some good ideas in this budget. But the whole beer and gambling thing is honestly kind of embarrassing. And if lotto tix on the phone is more important to a majority of Ontarians than kids' class size we deserve what we get.
Budget opens up parks for drinking, bars allowed to open at 9 a.m., lotto tickets available on smartphones. Tailgating to be permitted along with advertising of "happy hours" and an end to all planned tax increases for beer and wine.
Look, Siakam played poorly in the bubble. He’s a terrific player and even better story. If you wanna complain about him as though he’s already failed because of one stumble, fine - that’s your right. But the problem isn’t Siakam. It’s the insane expectations of some sports fans.
I remember being a kid and listening to my dad on the air ( Q107 ). He cried as he reported that John Lennon was dead. I'll never forget the sadness. And my feeling of love for my dad, who almost never showed his pain, but did so on that day because he so treasured art and life.
Otd in 1970 the world lost Jimi Hendrix.
And if Joni is a painter, and Lennon is a poet then Jimi had to be a sculptor who made shapes with sound.
Enjoy some Hendrix today!
Thinking a lot lately about how to live a good life, and I keep coming back to this: embrace health and try to have a positive impact on others. And maybe....that’s it?
Sincere congrats and appreciation goes out to the recipients of this award. And in particular to Donna Strickland for firing a laser right into the glass ceiling that rests above the heads of women in science.
BREAKING: Canadian Donna Strickland among three winners of Nobel Prize for Physics for advances in laser physics. The University of Waterloo's Strickland shares the honour with Arthur Ashkin of the U.S. and Gerard Mourou of France.
I always loved Malcolm as a musician, because he laid a crushing foundation on to which you could hang the best hard rock songs ever. A brilliant rock guitarist. Pure thump.
I can't see Dubas firing Babcock. But behind the scenes i would highly recommend Babs put a sock in any "Im a hockey genius with a Cup ring and gold medal" schtick.
This was cool. We will be doing more. Would love to hear what topics you’d like us to cover.

My kid would benefit from 3 weeks in school, but for social reasons, not academic ones. If they cared about mental health they’d prioritize outside interaction and not being masked In stuffy classrooms trying to ram as much curriculum down their throats as possible.

Happy Orthodox Christmas. We had dinner at my Baba's home last night. She's 94 now and we've all lived there at some point. I grew up there till I was 15. She's a shining example of how a life well-lived effects a lot of lives for the better.
Win or lose, this is my fav TO team ever. honestly, how could a Torontonian not love this team - from Ujiri right through to the 905. They have already lifted this city to heights we’d never experienced before and brought us together in a whole new way.
Stewart gave great answers, but
@karaswisher
asked great questions. She's doing some fantastic work and I highly recommend you check it out. She's my media role model right now. I think you'd love her work too!
Also! What a pleasure talking to a smart as hell and present interviewer!!! Thanks
@karaswisher
…yeah that’s right, I’m threading, I’m tagging!!! 21st century here I come!!!
I don’t know about you, but I did not expect to cry. But we were bawling. And it felt so good to cry for relief, for hope, for something that felt like a renewal of an idea that - though imperfect - still matters and has value.
The Libs wanna sneak an election past the public and scoop up some more power. The Conservative Premier has gone into hiding, days before schools re-open. The Greens are in disarray. And I contacted my local NDP office to help out over a week ago. They haven't gotten back to me.
If you don't listen to
@CBCShift
in the early afternoons, you might love it if you try it. Tom Allen is a fantastic broadcaster and the show demonstrates ably the potential of CBC Music's pastiche of genres. Plus, Tom is a terrifically funny, intelligent and decent person.
Dave Bookman was a very creative person who put the value of art above commerce and lived according to his passions. Gone too young, and he was someone who so many of us admired while he was here. I am sure he's already organizing a New Music Tuesday in heaven.
Christmas Time can be hard on people. I've had some tough ones, that's for sure. So if you're missing someone, or you feel kind of blue for whatever reason please know you're not alone. We all feel it sometimes. May I recommend a shot of Bach. Or the Ramones.
I get that you want to be private about how you feel inside. Our pain is very personal, maybe the most personal thing we have. But I promise you, learning to talk to others ( and to ourselves ) about how we really feel, and why, is the first step toward healing.
#BellLetsTalk
I cut out almost all drinking ( ill have a few drinks a year ) and I gotta say the greatest feeling is being really present. Im not lecturing. Believe me! It’s just that I’ve experienced both extremes and IMO being clear-minded is a better way to live.
Dear Mitch Marner,
No one is in the mood for any superstar ego bullshit right now. Choose your negotiating strategy wisely .

If the Leafs lose, I think we’ll look at the Barrie deal as the thing that just did not work.
We can overrate Kadri’s value: cuz we love him. And Kerfoot is prob a little underrated. But Dubas had a job to bring somebody in on D. And that Barrie deal has been a bust.
Have you ever said to yourself, "F this, I think I wanna move to Iceland and wander the barrens, write bad poetry, teach a little English and learn how to knit thick wool sweaters"?
Asking for a friend.
RIP Roberto Clemente - died 44 years ago today. My dad's favourite ball player...he'd say Clemente was a demon on the field and an angel in life. 12 Gold Gloves, 4 NL batting titles, 3,000-hits and a legacy of generosity, philanthropy and pride.
I love radio. It’s in my blood. As an art form it has elevated my life: as a business it put food on our table going back to my dad’s work at q107 when i was 8 yrs old. I hope for the best when it comes to The future. Good radio builds communities and is pure theatre of the mind.
Ask yourself...how many important days you have missed? how many trips, weddings, funerals, births. how much have you missed. Now ask yourself, does Phillips look like a custodian of the public trust? And why does Ford expect so much of you and so little of his own cabinet?
Hey Blue Monday friends - this is what I tell my 10 year old. When you’re sad, don’t fight it. Sit with it, but don’t add to it either. Just let it be, and eventually it’ll
roll away on its own, like a wave. Sometimes being sad means we’re alive and we know it.
The Raptors are my fav team, have been since 1995. And only rivalled by the 1985-93 Jays for emotional investment. Playoffs start today; and in all sincerity, as a grown-ass man who has plenty of other things to think about, I say: LET’S GO RAPTORS!
Tonight's
@TheStromboShow
celebrates Joni Mitchell's 75th Birthday. Her music is so brilliant, we'll be unpacking it for generations. Everyone from Neil Young to Charles Mingus just knew...she's a singular presence. Right now on CBC Music.
Hearing that Neil Peart is gone, I can’t help but think of Bobby Sliwocki. He was my best friend when I was 11, and we always walked up and down Boustead Ave listening to Moving Pictures on his giant radio. Orange tab Levi’s, boots unlaced, powered by D Batteries and Neil Peart.
If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.
