They can’t! None of the supplements reduced LDL or total cholesterol compared to placebo. In fact, garlic supplement caused 7.8% ⬆️ in LDL-c. 🫀These results can be used in evidence-based discussions with patients to ⬆️ statin initiation/adherence.

BMI variability was assessed using the standard deviation (SD) and coefficient of variation (CV) of each participant. Each SD increase of CV (indicative of greater BMI variability) was associated with a ~15% rise in the risk of MACE 💔, after adjustment of covariates.

Using a modified Life's Simple 7 score (- nutrition) the authors derived a 10-year cumulative cardiovascular health score before age 40. Participants with higher cumulative CVH score were more likely to be female 👩‍🦱, with high income 💵, less likely to live in rural areas.
