I want high-speed rail. I want public transit. But when you live in a country where a violent criminal is released 72 times, no one will ever be willing to take that transportation, so we will never invest in it. And that’s fair. Address antisocial behavior first, then build.

Disloyalty like this is unforgivable. This mom working the night shift refused to take a counterfeit bill & was attacked by a violent criminal. As he strangled the life out of her she drew her gun & shot him saving herself. @7eleven fired her because not dying violates policy

Violent crime is overwhelmingly the work of a small group of repeat offenders. The remedy, as James Q. Wilson argued half a century ago in his classic book Thinking About Crime, is not social engineering but incapacitation: keeping the violent few from striking again.

These stats are crazy: In NYC, 327 people account for 1/3 of all shoplifting arrests. Those 327 people have been arrested 6,000 TIMES. In Oakland, 400 people were responsible for the majority of homicides. Obviously we should take those 727 people and throw them in jail for

In America a black guy can commit armed robber, get placed on probation, and you will pay for his groceries.
“That’s some bullsh*t!” “It help me a lot. I get $292 a month.” Unemployed 38-year-old Nelson Scott is mad that Trump implemented a work requirement for SNAP recipients like him. The requirement is just 20 hours per week.

Romeo here killed someone while driving (after a LONG history of DUIs) under the name of a Dan, who's identity hed stolen. Nightmare for Dan, who got the backlash with the law and taxman. Somehow, NYT portrays Romeo as sympathetic.
One man "paid the price" by having his identity stolen, costing him tens of thousands of dollars and making his life hell. The other "paid the price" by being arrested and charged for the crime he knowingly committed. One of the craziest framings of a story I've ever seen.
