On resident appreciation day, my hospital CEO gave a speech and then the program coordinators passed out raffle tickets so they could give out a few gift cards…. each of them was worth $5 (for target, starbucks, amazon, etc) 🥴

Oh my some strong opinions here. In a future world with in-person residency interviews, I firmly believe that if you travel thousands of miles at great expense to interview for an extremely stressful & underpaid position, the interviewer should be sending you a thank you note.
@DGlaucomflecken What a dumb take, even if you’re being funny. Thank you notes should always be written after interviews. It’s professional courtesy, no matter what.

I don’t usually brag about our residency program, but today I’m gonna make an exception. Like other children’s hospitals, we’re managing a surge in respiratory illness. But unlike most hospitals, we’re gonna pay the residents who work extra overnight/weekend shifts $100/hour.
