The UK government's austerity agenda, and Bristol's ill-fated mayoral system, are the context for these essays from activists focussing on inclusion, community campaigning and city planning - a wealth of experience to inspire and inform future activists. https://t.co/37ESc69R9Y

This is a measured, and worrying, statement from the Wellspring Settlement https://t.co/0Uha0IXvP3 Serious concerns about the quality of the consultation & the treatment of local people. Who is listening? @BristolCouncil @BristolLive @beardedjourno @bristol_citizen @melimoonshine

I don't understand why @bristolcouncil gave a draft report with initial public engagement 'results' straight to Arup to draw up proposals. That's not 'co-design'. Why weren't the initial findings discussed first with the communities who have local knowledge & will be affected?

"It is was always clear, that the initial proposals were unlikely to be what would be implemented" - Tony Dyer It sounds like ARUP did a really bad job on these proposals. Did ARUP come up with them, or did BCC send them to ARUP? https://t.co/v2iCCPkTAZ

Whatever your views on the SBLN, is this OK? “The next suitable meeting for the petition debate will be in December, after the SBLN consultation has closed." https://t.co/htZTdQvGCY OR petitions must be received at least 2 working days before the meeting ⬇️

An important point @TristanCorkPost If some elements are essential to get the funding, then state it at the beginning. Otherwise people lose faith in the consultation process. 🤔 Of course, some people may then say "In that case, we'd prefer to go without the funding, thank you".

Another blog from @EdPlowden & Bristol City Council that fails to mention Liveable Neighbourhood projects will ONLY get Govt/WECA cash if they include modal filters & traffic zones. The consultation doesn't mention it either - which is why people say it's a sham.

I'm impressed with this answer! @helengt76 Q. Please will you confirm the capacity of the arena for which there is currently planning permission, and whether it is appropriate to state on @WestofEnglandCA website that there is planning permission for a 20,000 capacity arena.
