If you can’t play catch with a partner from 60-90 feet away and hit him in the chest almost every single time you should not even be talking about playing college baseball. If you can’t play catch correctly you’re never getting on the field.

It's amazing all the graphs, charts, scouting reports etc. all these NCAA softball coaches have at their fingertips for pitch calling, yet so many lack situational awareness. To me, this is pitch calling 101: keep the ball down when protecting less than 2 runs past 5th inning.

It’s incredibly hard to throw overhand to 1st on a comebacker after several innings of pitching underhand. Softball pitchers should take EVERY opportunity to throw overhand in between innings. Every chance.

AMEN! I’ve been saying this for years now! Watching “elite” level players boot balls all over the field, unable to make average plays and then to see it score a hit? 🤢 I’m assuming it’s for post season awards….which are clearly then flawed.
Scoring hits and errors HAS to get better. An error is “a play the average defender should have made that wasn’t made, costing the team an out.” Our average defender is stronger now than ever before. We have to score like it and raise the bar of an “average defender”
