My goal for every athlete I've ever coached is that they'll know that I loved them & my hope is that when they get older they’ll realize that those of us who demanded their best, were also the ones who cared about them the most.

Every minute you're late screams "I'm more important than all of you." It's not about time. It's about respect.

Coaches: What you permit, you promote. What you allow, you encourage. What you condone, you own. #Accountability

Play because you love the game. Work hard relentlessly to get better because you love winning.

The grind nobody sees. The process nobody celebrates. That's where futures are built. Champions fall in love with practice. What part of the process do you actually enjoy? Find it. That's your superpower.

Embrace the discomfort of growth, or stay comfortable in mediocrity.

Bragging rights don't matter. Development does. Degrees matter. Memories matter. What really matters to you in your athletic journey?

Parents poisoning team culture through their kids. Your whispers in the car become their words in the locker room. Choose wisely.

If coaches are pushing you hard, be thankful – it means they care. Be worried when they STOP!

Just a friendly reminder: Baseball and Softball are TEAM sports. If playing time is the only thing important to you, I'd recommend you play golf or tennis. (P.S. I love golf & tennis.)

Athletes : Stay focused on your own work. Stop using social media to compare your journey to someone else. Everyone’s journey is at different stages. Comparison is misleading because we tend to focus on the end result rather than the process.

Winners have talent. Champions turn potential into performance. Great coaches make average players good and good players great. What player transformed the most under your watch? Share their story. Let's celebrate development over raw talent.

Coaches: You determine how successful you want to be by how much time you dedicate to growth & self-education. Books, Videos, Podcasts, Articles, Clinics, Conventions. So many ways to get better.

Battle mode: activated. Problems? Irrelevant. Politics? Background noise. Just PLAY. When have you been so good that nothing else mattered? Chase that level.

The more I coach the more I am convinced: Bad players give up. Average players make excuses. Great players get determined

Young athletes. DO NOT listen to adults who tell you the odds of making it. If you want it bad enough & willing to do what it takes, you can do it. Skill + Determination > Talent. You know what % you should worry about? 99% aren't willing to do what it takes to reach your goal

As a coach, model the motivation you expect from your players. When you show up to practice if you expect energy...you better bring it!

Accountability separates the championship teams from everyone else. They care enough about the team and their season to account for their DAILY actions not just when they feel like it.

Instead of excuses, try solutions: ✔ I have to get better ✔ I have to better focus ✔ I have to be more committed ✔ I have to get it done

Players who complain the most, typically achieve the least. Why? Because their focus and blame is always on someone else. No 'i' in team but three in responsibility. - Gary Curneen

A coach will coach your technique. A coach will coach your game intellect. A coach will coach your practice habits. A coach will coach your fundamentals A coach should NOT have to coach your energy. Ever Your energy reveals your attitude & how badly U want it. -Darren Fenster
