Being a bootstrapped founder means you're: > CEO > CFO > COO > QA > product designer > ux researcher > frontend developer > backend developer > growth hacker > content creator > copywriter > marketing team > sales team > manager > data analyst > data scientist > devops engineer

Startups used to be about creating something new that people love Now it's all a dick measuring contest: - How much you raised, who from - How many impressions you get - How many dumb billboards you put up - Which girl you have thirst trapping for growth - How performatively

Yes+No. The average PhD may work for the average MBA. However, at an Elite level this is not always the case, most start their own companies or lead their own research labs. Eg. Jim Simons, Demis Hassabis, FeiFei Li. 6/8 "Founders of Silicon Valley" had PhDs including Bob Noyce.

An old friend working at a big-3 frontier AI lab asked me recently about their agenda to create research agents that could do research as good as (or better than) grads or faculty. My reply was essentially similar to @karpathy 's : please work on an agent that can boost my

My pleasure to come on Dwarkesh last week, I thought the questions and conversation were really good. I re-watched the pod just now too. First of all, yes I know, and I'm sorry that I speak so fast :). It's to my detriment because sometimes my speaking thread out-executes my

Un aplauso a la chica que llamó a la Roro Network para decir lo que pensamos muchos peruanos sobre la crisis en la que vivimos. Y hablar fuerte y claro sobre la brutal represión policial en las marchas frente a los comentarios tibios de algunos streams.

Yes, though I will still add that pretty much anyone in graduate school agrees that AI (Agents particularly) are slop. It is only the tech bro's that call API's & haven't taken a linear algebra class that think "it's so over"

This is common among the most successful startups. It may seem wasteful, but it's a good idea to have some extra money in the bank as insurance against disasters, and the most successful startups have that luxury.
