I had the privilege of witnessing an awe-inspiring session on resilience, courage and determination from young people who as children had battled with cancer. This post is about a home that enabled their survival and nurtured hope.

This is not just an update. This is also an appeal. 🆘 We stepped out of our comfort zone & conducted sessions in *two* tribal schools (आदिवासी शाळा) in जवाहर, Maharashtra. It reinforced why we must do this. Read on to know about our experience & how u can help.👇@IndiaBioscience

Hidden sugar, salt & fat, but especially sugar is killing us! The rates of rise of #diabetesmellitus in low income families is terrifying. We need to change our #diets, #foodsystems to deliver for people’s health. Behaviour change also key, along with policy levers

A novel test of honeybees’ waggle dancing shows that they can learn to do it better.

I will be talking about atypical astrocytes this Tursday! Join me to have a fun discussion about what happens to astrocytes when the BBB is disrupted. Reminder: the US changed to summer time, but Europe hasn't yet. That means that it will be at 11 am EST, 10 CST and 8 PST.
We meeting on Thursday the 16th of March @AstrocyteCafe. Looking forward to the presentations of Matthew Broadhead and Carmen Munoz-Ballester. @MatthewBroadhe6 @Canxuki 🤩🤩🤩

My main conclusion from yesterday (kind of sad in my opinion): A significant percentage of the scientific community doesn't think ideas are a real thing that should be credited and value ideas less than hard work* *based on hundreds of replies to our commentary

Chuckling at my 4yr old asking “is that an ASTO CITE??”(looking at my image analysis pane) I had told her that it sits inside the brain & helps her think. Funny she knows about astrocytes before neurons! Would be cool to write a non pedantic fun book for kids on these 🧠 cells
