It’s not a “housing crunch”. It is our greed to “own as much plots of land as we can before we die” crunch. We seriously need to move towards normalising living in apartments in cities in Punjab.
In Lahore alone, 70% of agricultural land has been converted to housing and industrial units, followed by Gujrat where the ratio is 60%.
Unless we either put a stop to it or develop innovative food production, we will be in serious trouble.
