Congratulations to Maru & team on the lab’s latest pub! PP5 requires the molecular chaperone Hsp90 to dephosphorylate CRaf kinase and Hsp90 cochaperone Cdc37. Here, authors show how Hsp90 acts as a platform to allow for targeted dephosphorylation by PP5. https://t.co/lNW7DwPMSk

Check out the latest preprint from @andreafossati9 and @MozumdarDeepto on using SEC-MS to identify protein:protein interactions during jumbo phage infections! Congrats, team! #phage #jumbophage #secms
New preprint alert! Here we show how SEC-MS is a powerful tool for host pathogen interactions profiling. We applied it to Jumbophages, which are large bacterial viruses (>300 genes) holding great potential as antibiotics. What did we find? 1\n https://t.co/qaQHKvkQtO

Check out our latest preprint! #CryoEM structures of immunophilins, FKBP51 and FKBP52, in complex with Hsp90 and the glucocorticoid receptor, demonstrating the FKBP co-chaperones directly bind an Hsp90 client to regulate client activity. From recent grad @ChariMN w/ Jill Johnson

Check out our latest preprint showing that the major protein enclosing the Phage Nucleus (PhuN) forms a tetrameric lattice with C2 symmetry. The symmetry establishes 4 unique interfaces, two large enough to act as channels for small molecules, RNA, or even unfolded proteins.
Excited to share our findings about the self-assembly of the phage nucleus! In short: it’s primarily composed of a single ~70 kDa protein and forms a beautiful (I may be a little biased 😍) C2 symmetric lattice! https://t.co/nQwHJEjSNU

#CryoeM #CryoET has enormous potential allow researchers to study #structuralbiology in situ but low throughput limits applications. This new publication from Shawn Zheng of @AgardLab @UCSF addresses that problem and offers on-the-fly processing!
