Must be bloody awful watching your team never finish lower than 7th in a country with thousands of football clubs, while spending close to a billion quid on world class players, winning 5 trophies and playing in a 75,000 seater stadium.
I’ll light a candle for you.
Can u imagine being a season ticket holder for over 6 years aged 11 first season was david Moyes? That's my Alfie, all he knows it

disappointment. 😥 this new age of utd fan will be hard as f#$k by the time we get our act together.
Over 770,000 people attended a football match in the top 4 divisions this weekend.
2 invaded a pitch. (0.00026%)
The BBC just published the opinion of an ex-player who says we need armed police at football.
(The novel idea of "train your stewards properly" wasn't mentioned)
Black lives matter. And yes, white lives matter and all lives matter. No-one disagrees
But black people face institutional systematic racism every day. White people don't. Trying to elevate your non-existant struggle to that same level is downright offensive and, yes, racist.
The reformatted EFL Trophy was meant to assist in youth development and ‘rejuvenate’ the competition.
Instead it’s just a pathetic and pointless waste of everyone’s time.

Given that Pep Guardiola has called for B-Teams, again, I’d like to, explain, again, why quite a lot of us would prefer that not to happen.
A thread:
Clubs that have either published a statement opposing the FA Cup changes, (or have had a senior member of staff/board indicate a stance on the club's behalf in an interview.)
There may be more, apologies if I've missed anyone. Do let me know.
Big 6: Hey, we'll give you an unsecured amount of cash in return for letting us control the game for the next 8000 years:
Fans: God no
FA: Nope
PL Executive: Woah hold on a sec
Government: Not sure about that lads
EFL Owners: SHOW ME THE MONEY

Chelsea-B tonight playing a 35-year-old goalkeeper and £33m striker, in a competition for Football League teams, designed to "nurture talent".
Slow clap.
This is really interesting.
Kavanagh is on the Professional Game Board. FA say the Professional Game Board signed off on the changes. Kavanagh says they had no advance warning.
It's going to royally kick off.
Would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that Steve Evans is a convicted criminal who got a one year suspended prison sentence for helping defraud the taxman of over £300k+ while at Boston United.
This man should be unemployable.
✍️CLUB STATEMENT | The football club wishes to announce that the manager Steve Evans and Assistant Manager Paul Raynor have been released from their contracts with immediate effect.

I try not to be critical of football fans on this account but seen a fair bit of this. It’s winding me up and needs to be said:
If you genuinely want Bury FC to be expelled and wound up, you’re not a football fan, you’re a plastic. 👍
All English Champions League Final and all English Europa League final.
All managed without B-Teams in the League and before the winter break has been implemented, even though we were told these were essential to future English success in Europe.
As we all know, the EFL Trophy is meant to assist the England set up with youth development.
So it's great news that 33 year old Laurent Koscielny, capped 51 times for France, plays against Pompey this evening.

Joey Barton: He’ll eventually go too far, even for Twitter’s loose policies, and will take a ‘woe-is-me I’ve-been-cancelled’ slot on GB News.
I’m stunned he hasn’t been banned already and just shows how far this platform has fallen.
Ajax fans, banned from their game against Chelsea on the same night, had publicly discussed attending this game. Now rearranged due to safety advice.
Only in the EFL Trophy do games get moved because there’s a risk of people actually turning up.
Of the 200 Premier League FA Cup entries in ten years, today's FA Cup changes saved 2 replays for 6 of those entries.
FA say changes led by the European calendar. One of those 200 entries was playing in Europe.
FA's justification for these changes is utter nonsense.
@AgainstLeague3
@FACupFactfile
23/24: Forest; (21/22, 20/21 no replays due to Covid) 19/20: Spurs, Newcastle; 17/18: Swansea; 15/16: West Brom; 13/14: Fulham. So in 10 eligible seasons (counted back to 12/13), there have been 6 teams who had replays in 3rd and 4th rounds.
With the EFL Trophy being so popular, and Salford being a proper historic club, here’s the allocation given to Salford at Wembley for the EFL Trophy final:
Great job lads. Still waiting for the coppers to turn up after my house got burgled four years ago but thank God there's a mob of you to take some ale off a coach.

This afternoon officers stopped a football supporters bus on the A78 which was travelling towards a match in Greenock. A quantity of alcohol was seized from passengers. Sergeant Lyall said “Operations like this one help keep fans and the wider community safe”.
The only people demanding replays are scrapped are either PL fans, PL staff or PL journalists.
No-one connected to the lower divisions supports this.
You are the rich to the poor, the haves to the have nots. The PL has everything it needs but still complains it isn’t enough.
✅ The Premier League winter break is a Premier League winter break
✅ It was implemented by the PL not the FA. The FA do NOT have to keep it free
✅ “Winter break” is no excuse for failing to fulfil other fixtures or bringing other competitions into disrepute
Hope this helps.
Chelsea, who spent hundreds of millions buying success with players they couldn't have afforded without corrupt Russian money, and then wanted to join a closed Euro Super League, are worried about "sporting integrity" now because they can't sell tickets. Jog on.
Worth taking this opportunity to issue my annual reminder that Evans is a convicted criminal who was found guilty of using phony football contracts to defraud the taxman of £250,000.
Bloke shouldn't be allowed within five miles of a pitch, let alone in a League 1 dugout.
The "Football Lads Alliance" have sod all to do with football. Thanks.
BLM protest cancelled. Statues covered. Brexit on time. They've nothing to moan about and are frothing at the mouth throwing bottles at coppers for the sake of it.

Thank you. Thank you for uniting fans together against your gross incompetence.
Thank you for opening our eyes to the fact that supporters are ignored and disenfranchised by the executive of the EFL.
The work of cleaning up your mess starts now.
Oh dear. Hey, it's been quite a while since I reminded everyone that Steve Evans is a convicted criminal who got a one year suspended prison sentence for helping defraud the taxman of over £300k+ while at Boston and shouldn't be allowed within 7,000 miles of any football club.
Hey if we’re desperate not to mix sport and politics I presume we’re never going to hear “Ten German bombers” ever again, or wear poppies on shirts, or sing sectarian songs, or have silences for non football events, etc etc etc
Today, we saw arguably the most incredible 'club statement' from a football club in living memory.
It was long, full of legal jargon, and made no sense to anyone. So what's really going on at Staines?
A thread:
If, as expected, no takeover was quietly completed at both clubs, then today is a day for the fans, and those who just lost their livelihoods.
Tomorrow should be the start of the most relentless, bloody and brutal inquest in football history.
Never again.
In the past, say, ten years - how many times has a single Premier League club had to play both a third-round and fourth-round replay in the same season? Paging
@FACupFactfile

Why are we fundamentally changing lower-league football for this?
Southend’s EFL Trophy crowd of 641 tonight is their lowest ever first team attendance.
The EFL Trophy has caused the following clubs to break their all time lowest attendance record:
Bradford
Charlton
Coventry
Oxford
Port Vale
Scunthorpe
Southend
Tranmere
Walsall

I'm finding it very hard not to get incredibly frustrated by all this.
I have genuine sympathy over the death of the Queen, and. Those who wish to mourn should have opportunity to do so.
But there's a notion that you're not just *allowed* to be sad, but that you *must* be sad.
Last night’s EFL Trophy:
✅ Lowest attendance in history at Bradford City
✅ Lowest attendance in history at Scunthorpe
✅ Third-lowest attendance in history at Carlisle
Big thanks to all who boycotted last night’s games.

@lauriewhitwell
Did You Know: Harry Kane is still collecting his full wage while Spurs furlough up to 550 staff, cut their wages and ask the government to pay them using taxpayer money.
Re Tranmere pitch: Tranmere’s owners communicate with fans in a way that ManU fans can only dream of (including, recently, a very honest statement about the pitch) and if big 6 didn’t try and hoarde every penny in English football, maybe they could afford to fix the drainage 🤷♂️
I’m a 6ft2 white Englishman. I’ve never suffered discrimination so I can’t tell any player who does how they should respond.
Whatever the England team decide to do, they have my full support in this situation.
Fuck racism. Fuck racists.
Bury are just days away from ceasing to exist. Bolton can’t fulfil their fixtures.
They have been failed by the FA and EFL, and without change your club could be next.

career, from this week’s strip on Bolton and Bury.
I hope he doesn’t mind me tweeting it in isolation, the rest of this week’s fabulous strip is here:
Amazing. EFL reduces chance of getting to Wembley by diluting the competition with B-Teams, then tries to use the chance of getting to Wembley as a selling point...
This is precisely why I personally reject the validity of any of Salford City’s “achievements” since 2014.
There is no skill, or merit to having owners that are richer than those of other teams by an order of magnitude.
It’s not “sport” and it’s not “competition”.
