This afternoon officers stopped a football supporters bus on the A78 which was travelling towards a match in Greenock. A quantity of alcohol was seized from passengers. Sergeant Lyall said “Operations like this one help keep fans and the wider community safe”.
We are currently in attendance following a report of an explosion at a property on Gorse Park in Ayr shortly after 7.10pm on Monday, 18 October.
Emergency services are currently at the scene and we would advise people to avoid the area at the present time.

Four officers based at South Ayrshire who responded to an incident in the early hours of the morning and by their actions prevented the loss of life at what was a well developed fire. A very deserving award, well done.
PCs Wardrop, Pritchard, Shields & Murdoch attended a house fire where the building was well ablaze. They fearlessly entered, evacuating the residents who were asleep. Their courageous actions led to the rescue of several people, preventing the loss of life.

Jamie-Lee Harvie, 12, who had been missing from Ayr since Tues, 14 March has been traced safe and well by officers in the Irvine area this afternoon.

The new Locality Policing Sergeant for Troon & Prestwick, Sgt Lisa Thomson, and Pc Dickie were out and about today on some of the new police bikes that have arrived at Troon. The bikes ensure local officers are accessible to the public and allow us to patrol more of the area. 🚲
