I'm torn about whether I should pour money into SO2 balloons. Also curious what's stopping a Musk, Besos, or even a @beffjezos from raising some money and saying "lfg, try to stop me".

Thank you @NickFedor_ for spending time on renovating Watchtower. It is crazy that the main repo is unmaintained. Looks like a few days ago the tool broke under the weight of it's technical debt. For those reading along, containrrr/watchtower is kaput:

Describe the bug I have two server (Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS), both running Docker v29.0.0. Both are unable to run watchtower, because the run into a loop with the following error mess...
It is unfortunate that containrrr/watchtower is essentially a dead project and hasn't been updated in quite awhile. If you are using it, then you should consider forking the project, adding Renovate, and using your own container images. I am currently in the process of doing

Bill Gates' perspective on this is imminently reasonable. Had the world kept going without all the major technological leaps of the past decade, we could be on a path to devastation. But as his article notes: technology is winning!
This is a good behavior and should be congratulated. People SHOULD update when there's strong new evidence, and we should not hold it against them for genuinely changing their views.

Europe would do well to follow Gates on this pivot. The EU is responsible for just 6% of global emissions, but still thinks it's saving the planet by sorting and washing trash by hand, forgoing AC, or deleting emails (lol). Climate doomerism is degrowth nonsense in a nutshell.

Hallo @Markla94! In je leuke gesprek bij @De_NieuweWereld noem je dat de inkomens in nederland best gelijk zijn maar de vermogensongelijkheid op Amerika lijkt. Die is NIET je geval. Onze pensioenen worden niet onder vermogen gerekend. Amerikaanse 401(k) enz wel.
