A few weeks ago, I made the switch to @CachyOS from Windows 11. While I have encountered some edge case issues, primarily NVIDIA driver and KDE Plasma bugs, I would be hard-pressed to return back to Windows anytime soon.

Finished this morning with the latest overhaul of Watchtower's release process. While GoReleaser is a nice tool for producing build artifacts, it was brutal working through some oddities to achieve full attestations on multi-architecture dev and production release workflows.

While AI can be useful, its outputs need careful vetting. Unfortunately, people seem to lack any sense of quality control and/or situational awareness regarding its usage. Hard lessons will be learned from all of this.

Docker Swarm is a fascinating shift from your standard Docker. There's a ton of assumptions, including how to setup Compose files, that does not carry over. In addition, it seems like a lot of application developers have totally overlooked it in favor of K8S.

It's the "simple" things that make a difference. I'm glad to have made the switch over to @ProtonMail . I just wish @Proton_Pass had more offerings for developers and sysadmins like @1Password does https://t.co/B3B5PCvk1U.

Just got Sonatype Nexus setup to help cache Cargo and Go packages. It was definitely an adventure trying to find and setup a decent registry.

There's something oddly satisfying about clearing a long list of linting issues. I've been working on trying to get Shoutrrr in a better state after years of being left abandoned. https://t.co/OVt5p1NoyE

If you're trying to learn how to code and are in search of a project, then I would definitely suggest checking out popular open source projects. Instead of starting a new project, fork an existing one and start diving into setting up your dev environment and CI/CD pipeline!

While I understand that Docker Compose is a CLI utility that extends Docker to utilize the Compose Spec, I'm surprised that they have opted to keep it a separate project rather than directly integrating it.

It's amazing how much utility can be derived from older computer hardware. MiniPC's are a fantastic option if you are concerned about power consumption and fan noise from traditional servers. Just remember to consider your scaling strategy with either option.

Finally setup Harbor, a self-hosted image registry, for my local environment. It's definitely worth checking out if you're concerned about the upcoming Docker Hub rate limits. Just be aware that the setup is different from other Docker-based projects. https://t.co/5aOSJ8EVqp
