This is my first tweet but an important one. I was recently mugged with a machete. You can buy them online without checks and retailers will try to sell you a balaclava. They should be banned. Please sign my petition :
I am delighted to say that following my petition, and meeting at the Home Office, the Minister for Policing, Chris Philps MP, has announced a consultation on banning machetes. I will be speaking on the topic on BBC Politics London this week.
It’s almost 5 years since Hammersmith Bridge closed to buses, cars & emergency vehicles.
My constituents, and so many across SW London have had enough.
It’s time to take the Bridge off H&F Council who clearly don’t want to re-open it.
With Conservatives today across the area.
It was brilliant to see some of the excellent results of the floor-by-floor refurbishment of Charing Cross with
@GregHands

@SteveBarclay
. The Conservatives delivering for local residents!!
It has been an honour to stand as the Conservative Party candidate in Hammersmith & Chiswick. This time it was not to be but I wish

!! It’s time to pull out all of the stops to support them. I’m looking forward to some campaigning with them this weekend.
My two muggers were sentenced today: 12 years 9 months (min 8 yrs 9 months in custody) and 18 years (min 13.5 years in custody) both with additional 4 years on license.
The British justice system is one of the best in the world. Very grateful to all who serve in it!
I always have huge admiration for the police and their professionalism. Our dogs went missing last night and the police tracked them down throughout the night. We were reunited at 5am. Thanks
@metpoliceuk
I have, today, sent a letter to the Chairman of the
@PostOffice
asking why Hammersmith has been without a full-service Post Office Branch for over three and a half years. It is clearly important that such services are provided in such a busy commercial centre.
It was great to talk to
@BBCNews
about the tragedy that is Hammersmith Bridge. It is time that the Labour Administration got on with reopening the Bridge. Less dither and delay, more action!
I’m delighted to say that my petition to ban machetes online has reached over 121,000 signatures. Thanks for all the support.
An interesting report on ITV on the rise of such crimes in the capital:
What fantastic campaigning from local parents to put pressure on
@LBHF
to properly invest in children’s playgrounds, which I support. It is vitally important that our green spaces in London are welcoming and imaginative for our children.
Thanks to everyone in Chelsea & Fulham for your inspiration and the opportunity you gave me to serve for 19 years.
Being your MP has been a great honour.
And to serve the country 🇬🇧 as a Government Minister for over 11 years.
Congratulations & good luck to my successor.
Today I am launching a major new initiative on Hammersmith Bridge.
After 5years of inaction & indifference by the Bridge’s owners LBHF, I am calling for it to be taken over by TfL.

I’m delighted to see that
@GregHands
is supporting the campaign to save Queensmill School in Hammersmith. It’s vital that we fight back against Labour’s failures on education.
🏫 Since June 2021, Labour-run LBHF has been badly underfunding the Queensmill School for autistic children.
This is why
@HFConsCllrs
& I have launched a petition to “Save Queensmill School”

I am delighted to hear the Government’s announcement on Zombie knifes and Machetes following my petition which reached 140,000 signatures. Thanks to all for their support!
I will speaking on the issue on Talk TV and GB News later today.
It was a great pleasure to spend time with constituents to unveil a plaque commemorating Lord Nelson’s victory at the Battle of Trafalgar with local brewery
@Fullers
As part of my campaign to ensure full access to local services for residents, I have written to the Chairman of
@NatWestGroup
objecting to the closure of their branch on Chiswick High Road and requesting a full explanation as to why they have taken this course.
I’m pleased to say that the petition has already received over 500 signatures. I’m hugely grateful for all the support. Please keep sharing online to keep up the momentum.
Always brilliant to be out in Chiswick with
@RonnieMushiso
and appreciate the great support from
@LauraBlumenthal
who will be an outstanding neighbouring candidate.
I’m proud of all that the Conservatives have achieved in the last 14 years! It’s time to stick with the clear plan that has delivered bold action to secure our country’s future.
