Breaking: the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is dropping plans for a proposed 25-foot high expansion of a toxic waste dump on Chicago's Southeast Side lakefront after years of litigation from community & @ELPCenter and following opposition from Illinois EPA:

VICTORY! The U.S. Army Corps has withdrawn its plans to expand the toxic landfill (aka Confined Disposal Facility on the north end of Calument Park) on Lake Michigan! This is a big win for environmental justice neighborhoods like ours.
