The city will close a ~750-bed shelter in Kenwood within 6 months, reversing plans to keep the shelter open indefinitely. A large SW Side shelter also closes June 30. Homelessness in Chicago was +207% from '23-'24. Kenwood rents are up $600+ since 2020.
