We’ve gotten 400 of the oldest sheds in NYC down!!! Well 401 actually is the number of Longstanding Sidewalk Sheds that have been officially taken off the streets since we announced our Get Sheds Down Initiative in the summer of 2023!

Finally had a chance to stop by the newly re-opened Brooklyn Banks and wow is this a great addition to the neighborhood, even for a non-skater like me. Government doing good things! We love to see it!

Big win for NYC streets: It’s a great day to #GetShedsDown 😎 @NYCMayor just signed legislation to address NYC’s long-standing sidewalk shed epidemic, giving DOB new tools to help us compel building owners to finish construction quicker and clear these eyesores from our streets!

Well said, JO. Thank you @MeeraCJoshi for your extraordinary leadership. Operations is the beating heart of the city and you lead it with so much heart. You challenged us to solve intractable problems big and small. We - your team, the city, NYers - are better because of it.
I had the privilege of being @MeeraCJoshi's COS for 16 months. No one in this Admin worked harder. Full stop. As Deputy Mayor for Operations, Meera did not have a portfolio filled with grand announcements and victory laps. Hers was about keeping in order the essential daily...

My first job in nyc policy and advocacy was on a campaign to get council and Albany approval for congestion pricing. The year was 2007 and Mayor Bloomberg announced the big idea as part of PlaNYC2030. 17yrs later it’s finally in effect! Congrats to all who made today possible!

We are committed to reducing UNNECESSARY sidewalk sheds. The @NYC_Buildings team sees a more precise shed policy for campus-like settings and collaborated with our @NYCHA partners. We'll always work to keep New Yorkers safe. We can do it smartly, too. https://t.co/CMlTTQyvJT
