This is great leadership by Councilmember Wonsley! She's right, students have been advocating for this and I'm glad to see our campus community safer because of her hard work! π‘
For years, students have advocated for more lights to improve safety. I am proud to have organized with students and led council in funding Dinky After Dark! Students β be on the lookout for the new pedestrian lights in Dinkytown! π‘π¦

Every morning I wake up and it's like Christmas morning! A new sign is placed perfectly and I giggle like a 1st grader. Happy lawn sign season to all who observe!

Happy Indigenous People's Day! Today and every day, commit to honoring our relatives through actions that give back what was stolen.
On Indigenous People's Day we honor the sacred land we stand on & the rich history of a community that's still very much here. With honor comes action. One way Hennepin stands with our relatives is a long-standing partnership w/ Four Sisters Farm in the heart of the Southside.

Eliza Winston's story is such an incredible narrative of the first & only Black person to sue for her freedom (and win!) in MN. Over the weekend I attended a talk & reading with two authors who wrote of her life and got my copy signed! Check out the exhibit now! @hennepinhistory

Of course hate has no place here, however, hate has been a constant in this country since it's founding. If you dare show up to lead as anything other than a straight white male, hate is to be expected. Doesn't make it any less disgusting and I love to see us undeterred πͺπΎ
Thank you to our local officials for your support. We do not take these threats lightly but we will not be deterred by hate speech. The people of Minneapolis are demanding change, and I'll continue fighting for it.

See you Saturday!! πͺπΎ
Weβve seen the Mayoral candidates in debates and forums all year long, and we know one thing for sure: That the status quo isnβt working and we need change at the City. We also know that we have some truly excellent candidates to get us that change. To that endβ¦

Thrilled to have the support of our friends at @seiumn! SEIU's 70,000 essential workers power our schools, hospitals, homes, and public buildings. I'll stand with them to strengthen workers rights and raise standards for every hard working person in our City!

Encampments don't lead to shootings. Dealers & traffickers want control over who sells/trafficks at those encampents & shoot at each other over it. Language matters. Find the suspects & bring charges so it doesn't happen again. Last I checked, no suspects were in custody.

"He thinks the city should have a larger role helping the lowest rungs of society, declaring that βthe disparities in this city are just downright criminal to me.β They certainly are. Great write up!

The racist and islamaphobic attacks against @OmarFatehMN come on the heels of the racist & islamaphobic attacks spewed from DC about our beloved Congresswoman. Its disgusting, its not welcome here and it is fueled by pure hatred that has recently resulted in violence. Do better.
