I'd expect better from the WordPress community. We should be able to talk about things we disagree with like adults and refrain from personal attacks. 3/3

I may agree or disagree with him and his approaches to things, but that being said. These kind of thinly veiled personal attacks on the man are un called for and just down right nasty. 2/3

Watch out for folks pretending to be from the .org marketing team. @photomatt is an abusive egotistical, tyrant dictator and Automattic is explicitly designed to be exploitative in nature in the way it directly controls the WordPress product and community while using that

It’s amazing what people can achieve collaborating together. As co-lead for docs on 6.4, a big thanks to all who supported with dev notes and the Field Guide. Still opportunities to help with end user docs, can you, your meetup or firm give time? Pls RT https://t.co/GQ3Vp2h8nK

My partner sends me the strangest & funniest things via Signal from the other room. He occupies a COMPLETELY different part of the internet. We met online in 2004, true story. We're "met online" OGs from when you were supposed to be ashamed of it.

You can tell the authors of the new room temperature superconductor paper believe in their results because they published two papers about it concurrently: one with six authors, and one with only three. The Nobel prize can be shared by at most three people.

Your 'moment of doom' for July 26, 2023 ~ So it goes "To get an event so far outside the norm is hard to square, not only with a static climate, but with most climate models’ predictions. Things may be getting worse faster than those models could handle." https://t.co/CtjqAhOk03

The implications for life in the Southern Ocean are scary enough; scientists are even more frightened about what has caused it.

Apologies in advance for not explaining this in any way, but here are the daily standard deviations for Antarctic sea ice extent for every day, 1989-2023, based on the 1991-2020 mean. Each blue line represents the SD's for a full year. Lighter is more recent. 2023 is in red.

Not to be alarmist but…this is what’s called a six-sigma event, now unfolding in Antarctica. Otherwise known as a once-in-7.5-million-year event. Hang onto your hats. HT @EliotJacobson

I really think this is terribly disruptive & inconsiderate to block a road like this. Don’t the people responsible for causing this know that people have to get to work, get to daycare to pick up kids? Someone needs to be held responsible! We must not tolerate this.

Even in the Poison Garden, this little guy is in isolation. Why? Because it is one of the most venomous and dangerous plants in the world - if you touch it, the sensation is likened to being burned and electrocuted at the same time, and the effects can persist for YEARS. a 🧵
