We’ve successfully finished our analysis of local election jurisdictions in Michigan. I like most states (42) MI administers election at the municipal level, instead of at the county. This means we have far more LEOs (local election officials) than most states. A 🧵:

In 2010 Michiganders were convinced that electing a wealthy Governor would improve the state. It resulted in kids getting poisoned with lead in Flint. When will people stop thinking the rich can run things better than the qualified?

It’s important to be specific: “red mirage” wasn’t some act of god Trump decided to exploit. It was result of deliberate decisions by GOP legislatures in PA/WI/MI to reject early mail processing. We all said for months this was premeditated. By the party.

The constitution was ratified by many states over a multi-day voting period. In fact, Election Day wasn’t centralized to one day until the 1840s. Also, photography isn’t 200 years old. States didn’t offer photo ID until the mid 1900s. Also, absentee started in 1860s.

Reporters are going to laugh when they report on election denialism from now on, right? Treating them as anything other than sore losers feels like complicity in a lie, at this point.

In Michigan we use the ERIC info to place a voter on the inactive roll and it starts the NVRA countdown. That voter can always appear in person and show ID (or sign an affidavit) but if they don’t for 2 federal election cycles, they will be removed.

Seeing my name in the Washington Post is a surreal experience. Still not as surreal as waking up to a perpetual groundhog’s day of pillow related conspiracy theories and partisan hostility.

If 🐓 lays 250 eggs a year (for 2 years) then he needs 3🐓 to produce 12 eggs a week. At $25/ 🐓 this “solution” is $775 for two years worth of eggs. At $4.25/dozen, the cost for buying 12 eggs from the supermarket for 2 years is $442 or 57% of the cost of this. This is also
