Had Michigan allowed Clerks to adequately process/tabulate ballots early, you wouldn’t see the proliferation of conspiracy theories that resulted in the assault on the Capitol.
It’s important to be specific: “red mirage” wasn’t some act of god Trump decided to exploit. It was result of deliberate decisions by GOP legislatures in PA/WI/MI to reject early mail processing. We all said for months this was premeditated. By the party.

The constitution was ratified by many states over a multi-day voting period. In fact, Election Day wasn’t centralized to one day until the 1840s. Also, photography isn’t 200 years old. States didn’t offer photo ID until the mid 1900s. Also, absentee started in 1860s.

Please follow Michigan Election Law and not “ballot harvest”. Only a family member or an individual who lives in the same home as a voter can return their voted ballot.

Clerks and election officials would love to work with legislators to protect our system. The current partisan goals with these anti-voter bills are dangerous.

Michigan Election Law requires an ID to vote. We are one of the 31 states that have this requirement. 99.5% of my voters showed an ID in 2020.

In Michigan we use the ERIC info to place a voter on the inactive roll and it starts the NVRA countdown.
That voter can always appear in person and show ID (or sign an affidavit) but if they don’t for 2 federal election cycles, they will be removed.

How ironic. I was at the national Association of state legislators and they pointed out that Michigan received from ERIC around 180,000 bad voter registrations, and Michigan was the only state that did not remove them.
