@mattjcan Simon was exactly right. A decade of your govt's failure to accelerate the renewables rollout has left Tomago stranded - unable to bridge the gap with overpriced coal once its current electricity contract ends in 2028 and forced to wait until the 2030s for sufficient renewables.

After a resounding success in the USA, Anthony Albanese is set to increase Australia's GDP by 1% in new trade deals with ASEAN countries. Great stuff @AlboMP #ALP

Regional stability, more jobs and more opportunities for Australian businesses. That’s what I’m focused on here in Malaysia at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit. We’ve worked to get our trade with these nations to record levels. And boosting it further will

Stupidest account on here (deliberate? accidental? both? who cares?) moves on from being stupid about elections and polls to being stupid about the voting behaviour of a band that hasn't existed as such for 45 years. (Ian Curtis was a Tory supporter).

Albanese had a successful meeting with Trump. That was in large part due to groundwork by the Australian Embassy. Rudd is ambassador and should be credited with that groundwork. Trump’s comment about Rudd was a bit of political fluff, of no consequence!

Context for the Murdoch Rudd question - remember it was Sky that put Farage up to feeding Trump the Rudd line in March. Just maintaining the anti-Rudd campaign. A brief history of News Corp trying to ruin Kevin Rudd's life via @crikey_news

A lot of people have animus towards Kevin Rudd. But none are as committed or unsubtle as those working at News Corp's newspapers.

Nuh. Rudd has been his own man, in the Australian fashion. And today has been a diplomatic triumph. I think you're going to have to learn to live with it.

@DaveSharma God you’re pathetic. Both Vance and Rubio - who were also in the room - said much worse about Trump in the past. Vance once compared him to ‘America’s Hitler.’ Rubio called him a vulgar con artist. But like most of your fast-collapsing party, all you can do is whine and whinge.

Judging by the chaos unfolding in America, Australia dodged a disaster in 2025 by overwhelmingly voting for @AustralianLabor. Can you imagine what the LNP would be like, being emboldened by Trump et al?

The government has made the right decision in NOT including unrealised gains in the taxable income of super funds. It was a thoroughly bad precedent and so very good they dropped it. But the only theme in the news is criticising the govt for making “a backflip”.
