Jillian Segal recommended chilling restrictions on freedom of speech. Nothing of relevance to #Bondi

Jillian Segal delivered her report on combatting antisemitism six months ago, and the opposition is seizing on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s delay in following her advice.

Laura Tingle is spot on .. put less focus on 'alarming levels of antisemitism' as Netanyahu and Jillian Segal would have it, and more focus on our decaying gun laws, particularly in NSW under Minns

Thank you Laura
Laura Tingle says you have to look at Netanyahu’s reaction with a grain of salt after he blamed Albanese for the Bondi attack. Says he’s the only leader trying to link it with Australia’s support for a Palestinian state while still can’t explain how Oct7 occurred on his watch💥

Australia's special envoy to combat antisemitism, Jillian Segal, ends up promoting antisemitism by cheapening the concept because she links protests against Israel’s genocide and apartheid to the antisemitism of the Bondi Beach massacre.

Jillian Segal says part of her plan to combat antisemitism "can and should be accelerated".

Sussan Ley is just not up to the task here. Unfortunately she's just not the right leader for this moment in time. The leader we need is @JoshFrydenberg.

I feel deep sadness for those Jewish Australians who were the victims of an act of terror yesterday, and all other Jewish Australians who must surely feel less safe as a result. And I feel nothing but disgust at Benjamin Netanyahu, who used the moment to play politics yet again.

Personally, I would have gone with "Two years of Israeli genocide have left all Jews less safe," but you do you, Chris. #auspol #BondiBeach #FreePalestine

While we reel from the Bondi terrorist atrocity that killed 15 innocent people celebrating Hanukkah, there are serious questions for our intelligence and security officials — and our politicians —...

@cheryl_kernot This post deserves to be tweeted and retweeted. It's spot on - from a Jew.👏👏👏 Not inflammatory & talks to all those conflating & promoting disunity. https://t.co/RSLEjWoVXi
THE BONDI BEACH ATTACK… People love to assign blame selectively. If one person attacks, suddenly an entire religion is judged. But when a state kills thousands every day, no one blames the faith behind it.

An absurd, vapid lecture from some distant ignoramus on a subject of which he knows nothing.
In @nytopinion The Hanukkah massacre at Sydney’s Bondi Beach “represents the continuing inability of the government of Anthony Albanese, Australia’s prime minister, to safeguard the country’s Jewish community,” our columnist Bret Stephens writes.

And journalists should ask!
I’m very keen to learn from Sussan Ley and Julian Lesser precisely which further actions by the Government on anti-semitism could have prevented this awful attack by two individuals? They should spell them out, otherwise it’s just political point scoring at a dangerous time.

"While the victims of the massacre at Bondi Beach were still bleeding, Benjamin Netanyahu - architect of the genocide in Palestine - blamed Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese." Butt out, Netanyahu #auspol

Israel’s Prime Minister should butt out of Australian politics. The tragedy at Bondi Beach must not be exploited for political points.

You don’t live here to observe detailed daily nuances. Save your opining for troubled America.
