May I ask a question of students of Congress? In the Senate, the bill calling for sanctions on Russia has 85 co-sponsors. Not mere supporters — co-sponsors. Yet the bill has been sidelined, not voted on. How common is this, for a bill that, apparently, is so popular?

It is unlikely I will ever subscribe to a print newspaper again. I understand the decision of @ajc but it is sad. I will always love that feeling of getting the perfect fold on a Sunday morning. I look forward to many more years of ajc digital subscription but mourn the loss.

If Republicans have a defense of this — Republicans in politics or in the media — I would like to hear it. (Really.)
Update: I offered the amendment. Not to refuse acceptance of the Qatari jet; just to prohibit Trump from taking it with him when he leaves office - after the taxpayers spend $1 billion to retrofit it. Failed 14-15. Every single Republican voted to allow Trump to take the jet.

Zelensky will return home to trepidation over the US posture but attaboys, even from opposition figures, for standing up for his country and the truth that his country is the victim, not the aggressor. Once again, because it seems hard to grasp, politics happens in other

Here's kind of a fun question: Does the media clown who asked Zelenskyy today why he wasn't wearing a suit in the Oval Office ever ask Musk the same question?

Stand with Ukraine in these crucial times. Ukraine’s democracy is under threat, by helping Ukraine, you support freedom worldwide.

This seems like a tough thing for @foxnews to paper over but they’ll give it the ol’ college try!
I cannot think of a previous example in US history of a president a) inheriting a successful fast-growing economy; and b) promptly capsizing it by his own freely chosen policies motivated by his prejudices and ignorance. Yet that's Trump 2025.

Trump says 25% Canada/Mexico tariffs and another 10% China tariffs are coming next week. Meanwhile, US steel prices spiked 9%-20% last week and US manufacturers just reported their highest input costs in two years. I'm sure it's fine.

I am amazed by all these US establishment figures who believe that Trump wants to improve the US, when all he is doing is destruction of the social & regulatory state, or that he wants to support the West & democracy, when all he says is that he wants to support dictatorships.

Trump also called Zelensky “a dictator.” To the best of my research abilities, Trump has never called Vladimir Putin a dictator. Nor have I found any case of Trump calling China’s Xi Jinping a dictator. Trump did tell Joe Rogan in autumn, “He controls 1.4 billion people with an

So far in his second term, Trump is way, way tougher on Zelensky than he is on most declared foes of the United States of America.

If Elon were on Putins payroll or was being blackmailed, what would be different?
At CPAC, Elon Musk claims that Ukrainians are dying on the front line “for the biggest graft machine I’ve ever seen.” He provides no evidence for this, nor does he betray any understanding that Ukrainians are fighting for their freedom, in a war not of their choosing.

Strange, someone named "Senator Tom Cotton" released an 84-page report four years ago that argued USAID would be "useful" and "play an important role" in countering Chinese influence abroad. If you see that guy you should ask him about this https://t.co/oSJQISTAPf
USAID was a vanguard of the global left. That's why the media and Democrats are melting down over saving money that was being sent overseas by U.S. taxpayers.

I'll say it again, I understand why people like the DOGE-budget cuts effort. But if you think the President has sweeping power like that to ignore Congress on spending, then any President can defund ICE, CIA, FBI, NIH, CDC, military, etc. by unilateral action.

Trump promises tariffs, insisting “We’re not looking for a concession.” It was “a pure economic” maneuver. Rs in Congress beg him to back off and stocks sell off quick. Abandons some when Mexico promises to do what it did in 2020 and 2021. = “Mexico caves?”
