This is possibly Putin's most absurd statement: 1. Putin started his war on Ukraine. 2. Putin is responsible for the killing of perhaps 100,000 Ukrainians and 200,000 Russian soldiers. Who will demand accountability & make this liar responsible?!
❗️"We do not consider ourselves responsible for the deaths of people in Ukraine, because we did not start this war," Putin said.

Trump deserves no credit with regard to Russia's aggression against Ukraine: 1. Trump does not even blame Russia or tells it to withdraw. 2. Trump has stopped ALL aid to Ukraine. 3. Trump pressures Ukraine to give up to Russia. What a loser!
Marco Rubio on Russia’s war on Ukraine: "This is not a war that started under President Trump... He deserves credit for having phone calls." (2025)

Interesting, it turns out that the Ukrainian and Western numbers have turned out to be correct (unless Putin lies as usual).
⚡️Putin says 700,000 Russian troops are fighting in Ukraine Earlier, a similar figure — about 710,000 Russian personnel — was also cited by Ukraine’s commander-in-chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

Why are you lying so blatantly? Nobody has been less bipartisan since Hitler and Lenin than Trump.
🇺🇸 Sneak Peek 🇺🇸 Our board recognizes that our Chairman, President Donald J. Trump, has not only saved this historic building but also created a truly bipartisan place to celebrate the arts. Some exciting changes are coming to reflect that—stay tuned!

The contrast between Trump's US & EU: The EU just committed $105 Billion to Ukraine for two years. The US defense billl offers $400 Million (!) a year for those two years. Trump has made the US irrelevant. The EU understands the importance of Ukraine, Trump does not.

Conclusion: Trump (who is the US today) just supports Putin. He wants to help Putin beating down Ukrand & Europe, but he cannot deliver anything at all. Therefore, Ukrainian-European negotiations with evil Trumpists are meaningful at best but probably harmful.

4. Trump has not extracted a single concession from Putin. As long as Putin does not get full control over Ukraine, he will turn down any proposal from anybody. Trump has no answer to that, so he is not a relevant party to any negotiation about Ukraine.

2. Since Trump became president, the US has stopped all military & financial assistance to Ukraine. Europe PAYS for all US arms to Ukraine. 3. Theoretically, the US could refuse licenses for US arms to be used in Ukraine, but that would stop USA arms exports - $320bn in 2024.

Why are the Ukrainians & Europeans allowing the Americans to push them to make concessions to Russia? 1. The US National Security Strategy clarifies that Trump's US supports Russia & not Ukraine or Europe.

Would the US support Putin's aggression in Ukraine if Trump was not the president of the US? I doubt it & certainly hope not. Why does the US accept that Trump has turned the US Are US institutions so weak? I ask as a US citizen.

I read an article somewhere that made the cogent point: The worst that could happen Putin is that Trump dies. Not wishing the death of anybody but Putin, this is really a striking point.

As always, an excellent Russian press review by @BBCSteveR. 3 points: 1. Russia rightly sees Trump as their key ally. 2. Russia's finances are weak & Trump is Putin's last chance to victory. 3. The EU is the real enemy & it must seize the Russian assets to win!
Doesn’t sound like a peace deal is imminent. “Beating a dead horse” is how the Russian government paper describes the US-Ukraine talks in Berlin. Meanwhile, “tax debts of Russians & businesses increased by 20% this year” & “alcohol prices may rise 10-17%” #ReadingRussia
