These are the Ukrainian numbers that make sense unlike the greatly understated Western numbers. If the Us really does not know anything, it would benefit from keeping quiet rather than assisting Russia in its disinformation.

"Russia has abducted thousands of Ukrainian civilians, ...and locked them in Russian prisons. The victims don’t have POW status, they’re not allowed to see their lawyers or loved ones, and most of them are impossible to communicate with from outside."

Sachs is outrageous: By lying so blatantly - just like Putin. By defending Putin's war of aggression in Ukraine & thus his many crimes against humanity. By calling on Ukrainians to stop fighting, that is, to lie down and die.

3. The cause of the vote to oust Yanukovych was that he had let his forces kill more than 100 peaceful protesters in Kyiv, introduced Putin-like dictatorial laws on January 16, 2014, & the Rada businessmen voted against him because they found this outrageous.

2. The overthrow of Yanukovych was not violent but a peaceful vote of more than two-thirds in the Ukrainian Rada after Yanukovych had fled Ukraine with allegedly $1 billion in cash from the central bank reserves.

These lines contain at least three lies: 1. The US had nothing to do with the Euromaidan. It was a spontaneous Ukrainian mass protest against Yanukovych's increasingly authoritarian regime, focusing on his turn toward against the EU.

2. Sachs: "The second was the U.S. role in installing a Russophobic regime in Ukraine by the violent overthrow of Ukraine’s pro-Russian President, Viktor Yanukovych, in February 2014. The shooting war in Ukraine began with Yanukovych’s overthrow nine years ago..."

No, NATO promised Ukraine & Georgia NATO membership some indeterminate future time without offering any road to membership. France & Germany's opposition provoked Russia by lying Ukraine & Georgia open to Russian aggression. NATO membership would have hindered it. Cf Baltics.

1. "There were in fact two main U.S. provocations. The first was the U.S. intention to expand NATO to Ukraine and Georgia in order to surround Russia in the Black Sea region by NATO countries (Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Georgia, in counterclockwise order)."

This little noticed G7 statement means that the G7, which holds zobut $300 billion of Russian Central Bank reserves have committed themselves: 1. to keep these assets "immobilized" (=frozen), and 2. to make sure that the whole amount is being used to pay for its damage in Ukraine

The EU has extended duty-free trade with Ukraine for one year. The EU Council adopted a regulation that extends the suspension of all customs duties, quotas, and trade protection measures on Ukrainian exports to the EU for one more year until June 2024. (UBN) Excellent!
