Apple's visionOS approach to light is remarkable. Apps naturally merge with surroundings, auto-adapting materials based on ambient light.
Essentially, they're killing dark mode!
It’s another take on ambient computing.
Like watching a 2007 Nokia fan telling you iPhone is not that advanced because you can do the same with Symbian.
He could’ve just said nothing, taken the best things of visionOS, add eye tracking back and be a king. Now he’s got his own Ballmer iPhone video. Surprising misstep
We now have M2 in Vision Pro where M4 would be very useful, while the new iPad Pro gets M4 and I still don't understand what I'm supposed to do with this much power on a tablet OS.
Thanks to the EU we have one more screen during the iPhone onboarding 🤡
Not everyone knows what a "browser" is, far from it.
Why not ask for a default music player, default mail app, default camera app, while we're at it 😅
The Apple Store staff is really doing a fantastic job doing Vision Pro demos, performing custom fit checks, making sure everything is properly set up… their work is absolutely essential. Congrats to them!
More impressions.
- Using Google Photos instead of iCloud was a dumb mistake. I’m missing out on seeing panoramas and spatial videos in Vision Pro. I’ll have to migrate everything (‼️)
- Spatial videos are quite awesome to relive family memories
This is going to be my new development setup going forward, more likely not 100% of the time, but based on what I tested today it will be a lot more time than I did previously with other devices.
I was undecided for a long time but I am officially an EyeSight maximalist. This is the worst it’s ever going to be and it’s already very effective. Having eye contact with the person in VR is so valuable. It makes it less isolating and more natural.
THIS IS IT! We landed 60 minutes ago and Tom now has his Vision Pro. I love this country!
I will be able to pick my own unit on Tuesday. I. Can’t. Wait!
Just arrived in Boston!! We’ve entered this great country that gave the world Taylor Swift and Apple Vision Pro. We’re now rushing to the Apple Store to get

🙌 Apple Vision Pro seems to perfectly support direct touch, which is a *fantastic* way to interact with digital content up close and personal, as well as typing with the keyboard.

Some news from the better product period.
Meta is now showcasing its tremendous productivity features, such as displaying a screenshot of a todo list from what looks to be an android app installed on the user’s phone. Meaning you can’t interact with it.
Very productive
Apple just shared a sample of a simple yet very effective trick for building VR experiences. Everything that’s close to the user is 3D rendered and the rest is a skybox.
HoloTour (from Asobo/HoloForge) extensively used this technique on HoloLens in 2015.
For the record because no one seems to be pointing this out.
⚠️ This is not possible on visionOS and it is by design ⚠️
Giving developers access to the cameras would create a cascade of privacy and ethical issues. It’s useful for a myriad of scenarios, but it’s equally…
After 3 days of travel from my home (Grenoble, France) to Boston, we were able to get our first Vision Pro.
Despite the jet lag and the fatigue, we spent some time playing with it. Using a 🇫🇷 Apple ID works as long as you temporarily switch to a 🇺🇸 Apple ID for downloading new…

location-based experiences.
We’ve been experimenting with this new capability in our🤳mobile and 🥽 immersive apps. It’s game-changer for creators and businesses!
Here’s an iPhone demo
Made significant progress over the week-end (instead of touching grass 🙃)
Now using a Sheet to display the model's information. Had fun with the glass background and z-layering of the UI for extra immersion 🥽
Up next: 3D stuff. Stay tuned

@tom_krikorian
See by yourself! This is just mind blowing. It’s fun, it’s natural and spontaneous!
And it’s not even visionOS 2 🤯
For those disappointed by today’s keynote. We’re at the end of innovation S-curve for smartphones. The future is spatial. The excitement will come from Vision products from now on!
Implemented infinite scrolling!! it was surprisingly easy 😇
With Unity it would have been super difficult, like more than a week of work. Been there done that ... Now it's down to a few lines of code. Great for app developers!
Also reworked the sidebar using grouping 😊…
Spent the day working with Vision Pro. I can’t say anything about it but I can’t stop smiling 😍
I encourage you to experiment with visionOS, and apply to one Developer Lab in Cupertino, London, Munich, Shanghai, Singapore, or Tokyo!

As a former French president said… "Ah ! La cuisine anglaise : au début, on croit que c'est de la merde, et ensuite, on regrette que ce n'en soit pas !"
Just woke up to the idea that the human eye is just a super advanced biological passthrough system, and that one day we may just bypass the eye to feed image data to the brain
3D FaceTime might appear a bit goofy. But that’s v1. Immersive feeling of presence enables new ways to communicate.
Meta’s personas on Friedman’s podcast are better but require lots of scan + compute.
Apple’s runs on a standalone device w/ a simple scan & ships next month.

Having the ability to pick a default browser is good. The EU forcing the OS vendor to add a Pick a Default Browser screen in the onboarding is too much. It confuses so many users, for very little benefit. Those who want choice - you and I - know how to set a default browser.
Watched Dune 2 in Vision Pro with the dark Moon environment. Truly other-worldly experience, this headset really is the Lisan Al gaib of the spatial computing era.
Tried to paint my nails while watching and failed miserably though - the pass through is not good enough 😅
Currently prepping my office for Vision Pro's arrival. I'm thinking of transitioning from a static desk facing a wall to a dynamic, open-plan layout.
Maybe I should also switch for a standing desk.
New Sketchfab on visionOS video!
I've been working with animations lately and despite several roadblocks identified along the way, I believe I should share a sneak peak!
I’ve been using Vision Pro in the 🚄 twice a week & surprisingly no one cares, didn't get a single odd look!
However… it messes with my bangs and my hair in general which is super inconvenient. I hope we’ll get rid of the light seal in a future version to fix this issue.
These reviews of Humane Ai Pin and Rabbit R1 only reinforced my intuition these should just be apps on your phone or watch, and will eventually become super useful when we can build everyday AR glasses
NEW VIDEO - Rabbit R1: Barely Reviewable
This is the pinnacle of a trend that's been annoying for years: Delivering barely finished products to win a "race" and then continuing to build them after charging full price. Games, phones, cars, now AI in a box
Reworked my code and I can now import and manipulate multiple 3D models!! This now reminds me of the built-in Holograms apps on HoloLens.
The simplest usecase is decorating your home with Sketchfab models ... would you make your home more personal with virtual objects?…
A few dev friends regret the lack of customization possibilities wrt visionOS windows, particularly the blurred background. But it's possible to put a spin on it by adding a subtle tint!
Apple brings many welcome AR improvements with ARKit 6:
- 4K recording
- Image and video capture improvements within the AR Session
- Instant AR session init on LIDAR devices
- Simultaneous front and back cameras with AR (!! this is huge)
Last one is huge, so excited!

I think I’ll use Unity for my next visionOS project. Combined with SwiftUI, it is the right approach for any app using more than very basic 3D.
(From the Unity XRI app on TestFlight, see my last RT)
IMO, one of the best things about visionOS is how good it is, how it sets the bar for the rest of the industry, and how good competing operating systems will become once they adopt visionOS principles
I’ve got some important news to share.
A few weeks ago, we shut down Opuscope. During these 7 years, we’ve made significant breakthroughs, and pioneered the content creation and distribution experience in AR & VR through multiple pivots. However Apple’s entry into spatial…
I've reached a stage where I can take 2-3 ideas from concept to prototype weekly, thanks to the tools I've developed.
These are either visionOS or iOS AR mini-apps, built using RealityKit and SwiftUI. It's genuinely a pleasure to move at this speed.

As a founder this kind of answer really matters to me. Thank you for showing you’re not a super hero but... human after all. A talented one.
Currently spending an average of 12-14 hours per day immersed in visionOS-related APIs and the emulator, and it's quite an experience
I even find myself dreaming about visionOS stuff, it's kind of wild
Takes me back to the early days with the Oculus DK1/DK2

Je comprends pas comment on peut être fière de ça 😐 je pense que ce genre de tweet sera jugement sévèrement par l’histoire
No, I don't want macOS on iPad, iPad Mini, Air, or Pro.
I want an iPad Ultra—a device that lets me run macOS apps whenever I want, merging the power of a MacBook with the gorgeous form factor of an iPad.
Just received a new travel case for Vision Pro. It’s the most compact I’ve seen, allowing me to transport it and my MacBook Pro 13" in my Rains backpack 🥰
My AR VR Wow moments - things I’ve tried that reinforced my confidence in this tech being the future of computing
2014: Oculus DK2
2015: HoloLens 1
2017: Facebook Spaces
2018: Magic Leap One
2023: Vision Pro

@ZAKtalksTECH
I travel a lot, and
1️⃣ I want to work on a big screen, not a tiny 14" screen
2️⃣My posture is bad because I recline to see my tiny screen
3️⃣ I don’t want other passengers to see what I see
4️⃣ I don’t want to be distracted by passengers
4 problems, one solution (Vision Pro)
Today marks the 8th year since I've first experienced mixed reality. At the time I was already well into VR, but half an hour with HoloLens 1 convinced me Mixed Reality, not VR, is the future of computing.

Preparing for the third (?) and hopefully final (?) leg: Reykjavík ➡️ Boston.
Because of the storm and yesterday’s flight cancellation Tom missed his Vision Pro appointment. We’ll get his unit tomorrow morning and start the hacking right away!
It just occurred to me that last week two customers called me using FaceTime - and they were using their Vision Pro, just like me, and we talked for ~an hour using our persona. 🤯
One of them even broadcast their POV to show me concepts for their app.
It's the new normal!
