If Middle-earth isn’t real, how do you explain hobbits/dragons/elves existing? Can you exist like hobbits/dragons/elves?

There’s like a handful of cities that look like that. It looks like Baltimore or Detroit, but I’m a Texan, so I’m going off of movies and tv shoes because I’ve never actually seen a city looking like that in person.

Yeah stuff like that normally doesn’t bother me that much. But just thinking about the amount of horrible shit done to her over more than a month of captivity before she finally just died really messes me up.

Property taxes are just government’s way of reminding you that you can’t actually own anything, even your own home or the fruits of your labor.
@s8n
Actually I take it back—keep it the same but the left side should just be a black square because the theist would just be dead and thus not be aware of being wrong.
@nichegamer
It wasn’t really a hologram in the first place, but a projection on a translucent screen. That makes this switch to a tv even weirder and lamer because a projector and screen are way cheaper than a giant TV.

There was a video of him. He looked like a skeleton moving and talking. He was a Thai Buddhist monk I believe and was like over 100.

It really bothers me when people anthromorphize animals as making human expressions and being cute or funny when in fact they’re suffering or dying. Other animals don’t make human facial expressions. If it looks like, it’s a coincidence.

For me the worst part is being so confident in their wrong answer. Not knowing how to square a number is bad enough, but being so confident that it’s the same as multiplying by two is really bad.

The whole “Jesus died for our sins” thing never made sense to me. If god is so loving and omnipotent, why couldn’t he just…forgive sins? Why the extra steps? Even the president can pardon people with the stroke of a pen. Surely an all-powerful god could just forgive people.
@s8n
This has never made sense to me. Why does god need to be incarnated on earth and then grow up and be crucified to die in agony in order for humanity to be forgiven for sins? Why could god not just…forgive humanity? Why all the extra steps?

Pronouns in the bio—of course.
If he was familiar with Disgaea and the art style he’d know that was just the art style. All female characters either have huge tiddies or they’re flat and all characters are mostly semi-chibi and young-looking.

Back in the day they often didn’t have much choice. There were some really cool tricks to get stuff to fit and to work around hardware limitations.

Let’s just get rid of all conflict in stories and make them about everyone just respectfully acknowledging each other’s value as people. None of that icky problematic stuff.

I think localization can make sense if it’s slang or a reference that people in the target language won’t get. In that case localize the slang to something equivalent in the target language. But don’t introduce slang or any personal beliefs if it’s not in the source material.

Each individually is at least as powerful as Omni Man and there are three of them and they’re just kindergartners so they’ll presumably become more powerful as they get older.

That’s why governments defend their monopoly status so jealously. If they had competition, they’d have to actually provide services that people want at a fair price.
