Marveling at the seamless transition from "Shadowbanning is ultra-MAGA paranoia" to "LOL of course they were de-amplifying the hard right, who thought this was news?"
@thomaschattwill
I think Twitter lying about it is the part that's news. Most Twitter users have suspected this was going on--and personally I dont care that Dave bongino and Charlie kirk were being throttled. I also dont think it changed anything election wise.

The question is, if shadow banning was to prevent hate, why were BLM and antifa allowed to organize on twitter to burn down US cities? Isn’t that hate?

@bariweiss
It’s the pivot to label people who were shadow banned as “ultra MAGA hard right extremists”
That way, if you complain you are labeling yourself as one of the extremists, even if you’re an everyday Joe.
It’s a tactic to shut people up

Musk has said he'll gaslight people in the same way by not limiting the freedom of speech but the reach of negative tweets. If he doesn't limit the reach of tweets that lie about elections, vaccine effectiveness, the infection fatality rate, grooming, Apple & Google may drop him.

I think both the above responses are indicative of people who, in general, don't need a free website to comfort them about how popular, important, and deserved to be heard they are.

Thing never happened.
Only bad people believe thing.
If the thing did happen, thing would be good.
We did thing.
Only bad people are upset by thing.

We all knew Twitter was managed and controlled by uncompromising ideologues of one political viewpoint. We took it for granted. But now that it’s not…. It feels really weird that we just accepted it.
