As a man, I accept that I will be stereotyped in certain ways, and that the people stereotyping me are statistically correct. When walking behind women at night, I either pass them or cross the street, because the risk of male violence is real and I don't want to cause them

in the age of ai, the question everyone's asking is "will i be replaced?" the real question is: do you know yourself well enough to become irreplaceable? everyone's getting access to the same models. same tools. with growing capabilities. the playing field is leveling fast.

If you understand this, you understand jiu jitsu. You're still gonna get your ass tapped, but at least you can figure out what's happening to you.

based on what i’ve seen in sf lately, afaict we’re still ~2 yrs away from anyone building ai that actually hits the real economy. the irony: everyone’s chasing stuff that’s only a stone’s throw ahead of current models. why? bc it’s: - easy bc they’re solving the most obvious

Everyone said 2025 was the year of the agents. In reality, 2035 is going to be the year of the agents. The more I talk to execs & businesses, the more I realize this isn't due to limitations of the technology. It's due to limitations of humans & organizations. Benefitting

@EricRWeinstein I coach a bunch of Gen Z kids in a robotics club. One of the kids works 19 hours a week (the legal maximum) drives himself everywhere, gets straight A's, and is polite, articulate, and respectful. The other kids are much the same. It's easy to write off Gen Z if your only data

“I wasn’t the fastest guy in the world. I wouldn’t have done well in an Olympiad or a math contest. But I like to ponder. And pondering things, just sort of thinking about it and thinking about it, turns out to be a pretty good approach.’ – Jim Simons

Why is this brick wall wavy? To save bricks. A straight wall—one brick thick is not sturdy enough so they generally have a thickness of at least two or more layers of bricks. A wavy one-brick wall stands just fine on its own due to the arch support provided by its shape.

the perennial tragedy of talent is that the moment you get absorbed by well capitalized institutions, your gradient of possibility collapses.

Seriously guys, you have no idea how much executive compensation distorts the H1-B debate. Incentive packages are designed to promote ruthlessness. So that's what we get.

I have a theory that the reason all entertainment sucks nowadays is because at any given moment there are only 100 or so capable writers. Fifty years ago the Ivies reliably produced good writers. Look at all the alums of the Harvard Lampoon who went on to crush it in

Saw predator badlands. Predator is a hurt child who learns the value of friendship. His first friend is a disabled lesbian woman. He learns to use indigenous ways of knowing and his alliance with the gay community to destroy a patriarchal corporation and his MAGA father.

Dollars to donuts that most AI initiatives fail due to institutional disfunction. The tech is fine.
