@ESYudkowsky Then in 1971 we invent the transistor and take another leap in the ability to optimize and connect systems. Because we are systematic about increasing system accuracy but not systematic about controlling system complexity, we almost become overfit.

I've been saying it for a while now: AI needs to be able to "sleep" and reflect on it's memories.

pixar accidentally solved the AI alignment problem in 2015. their movie - Inside Out demonstrates that human memory is an active, emotionally weighted system, not passive storage. memories change valence over time, get contaminated by current emotional states, and are filtered

Most of the time, when I encounter someone who feels like they have a void inside of them, the answer is not to fill the void. The void will eat anything you put into it. The answer is to *close* the void.

At a minimum it would need:.- Spreadsheet-like artifact.- That can be accessed by multiple chat threads.- New thread every day, but with previous chats (summarized) and the spreadsheet in context.

There is probably a market for a general purpose "AI Tracker" app that lets people "vibe track" whatever they want - food, habits, tasks, etc. The chat apps just aren't good at it.

I've been trying to keep a food + exercise log inside of ChatGPT but somehow it makes up 50% of the data and the other half is inaccurate. Crazy.

Maybe crazy idea: charge hourly at minimum wage for AI usage. Probably scales even when models get super cheap because people will still be willing to pay this much for whatever the latest and best model is.

agentic coding pricing is unsustainable at a flat $/message structure. a power user in a session will burn about $10+/hour in tokens. so flat per-message pricing starts off egregious and then margins go negative as the context window fills up during convo bc of increasing input.
