This is a great qualitative research paper. It sheds light on questionable research practices. But more importantly it demonstrates direct replications in qualitative research work as you would expect: independent teams reach basically the same conclusions

PhD students who organize lit reviews by author waste months. PhD students who use a synthesis matrix? They write lit reviews in weeks. The literature crosswalk isn't fancy. It's a spreadsheet where themes meet papers. Rows are concepts. Columns are sources. Cells are

I've recently discovered a really useful R package by Jan Broder Engler called tidyheatmaps. It's designed to make creating heatmaps from tidy data easy, especially for publication-quality visuals. The package uses pheatmap for detailed heatmaps with less coding. If you work

A lit review isn’t showing them you read everything. It’s showing you see something others missed. Here’s the formula I teach: 1. Map the debate. 2. Spot the tension. 3. Show the consequence of leaving it unresolved. Do this, and your gap becomes impossible to ignore.

Yes. Writing is not a second thing that happens after thinking. The act of writing is an act of thinking. Writing *is* thinking. Students, academics, and anyone else who outsources their writing to LLMs will find their screens full of words and their minds emptied of thought.
