At least 108 girls between ages 7 and 12 were killed at their school in Minab. An IRGC base is nearby and was likely the target. Initial attempts to deflect U.S./Israeli blame for the strike by claiming an Iranian misfire hit the school are undercut by video of the base also

“Small Children Who Knew Nothing of Politics or Wars” ⁦@DropSiteNews⁩ sent a reporter to the scene of a horrific strike that hit a girls elementary school. More than a hundred killed, most between the ages of 7 and 12. For nothing.

Jeff Bezos bought the Washington Post offering “financial runway." This month it gutted its newsroom—more than 300 layoffs. Whatever you think of legacy news, the hard data shows us that newspaper closures hurt Americans. Here's how: 🧵

This is my home. My terrace. In Noida, Uttar Pradesh a BJP-ruled state. 2 day of taraweeh Muslims offering namaz peacefully on their own rooftop. No barricades. No police. No ban. No fear. So spare us the manufactured outrage and fictional persecution narratives. Propaganda

If 8,000 people take a one-year subscription, @MaktoobMedia can run with financial independence. It is ₹1200 for a year. ₹100 for a month. Just ₹3 per day. And yet, today, we have fewer than 1,000 annual subscribers. Maktoob is a small newsroom. We survive largely on

Early in his proprietorship of the Washington Post, Jeff Bezos endorsed a new motto for the paper: “Democracy Dies in Darkness.” “It turns out that one of democracy’s most celebrated media institutions can be strangled in broad daylight,” David Remnick writes.

The dismantling of the Washington Post is a choice, not a necessity, and the blame lies with Jeff Bezos.

Heartbroken to have been laid off by The Washington Post today. It has been the honour of a lifetime to work with these colleagues for a decade, from Damascus to Baghdad, Derna to to Bakhmut. I am proud of our work. Thank you, everyone.

I expected the cuts would be bad but I'm honestly stunned and sickened seeing how many great journalists the Washington Post just lost. People who nailed huge investigations, documented war zones, exposed horrific crimes, dropped all at once for failures they did not cause.

NEWS: The cuts were so severe that at least one department head asked to leave The Post rather than be included in the planning. Peter Finn, The Post's international editor, requested that he be laid off once he learned about the scope of the cuts to his section.
