What a moving reunion. Mohammed Ibrahim, a 16 year old U.S. citizen, returned to his family in the West Bank today after 9 months in Israeli detention without trial.

The U.S. teenager has been held in two of Israeli's most notorious detention facilities while he awaits a court date. Evidence of Mohammed's alleged crimes has yet to be made publicly available.

Court documents show that Mohammed was charged with throwing rocks at Israeli vehicles. When he initially refused to confess to that crime, a masked interrogator threatened to have soldiers beat him. “Out of sheer fear, I ultimately confessed,” the boy said in an affidavit.

Israeli soldiers raided the Ibrahim's home in the West Bank town of al-Mazra’a ash-Sharqiya at 3am on Feb. 16. His mother Mona said that they blindfolded her son and led him away. “I begged them not to hit my kid,” she said. “That was the last day I saw him.”
