I'm at the end of the foundation programme and here are my thoughts and rambles and ruminations: Firstly, the foundation programme felt like a prison sentence to me. (This is going to long and multiple tweets, potentially many tangents, forgive me)

Itโs not the BMA โundermining the trade union movementโ. Itโs a Labour Prime Minister, writing in the Murdoch press, urging junior doctors to break with their union leadership. Thatโs a direct attack on trade unionism. Solidarity with @TheBMA and junior doctors on strike.

I reiterate this. There is NO obligation for any prescriber to sign off a prescription for any non-prescribing individual. Autonomy remains a founding principle!

If there's a chair next to a patient's bed vs. in a cupboard, doctors sit with their patients more and patients are more satisfied with their care (This was a randomised controlled trial - neither patients nor doctors knew the purpose of the experiment!)

It is disgraceful that @gmcuk's extensive social listening was only uncovered following a Freedom of Information request, which the GMC stonewalled for as long as possible. It took intervention from @ICOnews before they would respond. Even then, they missed the ICO's deadline.

You can clearly see how having trusts who don't share the same IT systems creates delays in care. You can clearly see how outsourcing referrals to specialist physiotherapists, can also cause delays - why could the GP not refer to orthopaedics?! ... 16/

I feel for all those that I see at work, in A&E, who can not get the care that they should because of the system. I have already supported my dad in putting a complaint to PALS, the local ICB, the trust... but it has gone nowhere... 14/

I'm a doctor in the NHS, my parents are proudly working class. I never thought the NHS could get this bad and I'm saddened to be working for such an institution. I respect my colleagues immensely, this a purely a management issue based on years of cuts to the NHS... 13/
