Why are senescent cells irreversibly arrested in the cell cycle? Today in @CellReports we report in a study led by talented postdoc @Afifi_MM that the transcription factor MYC is constantly degraded, keeping the cells locked in a non-proliferative state.

Check out our new paper by the extremely talented postdoc @James__Cornwell out now in @Nature. For decades it was thought the cell cycle was irreversible, but now we show that is not the case.

Check out this great piece by Adrijana Crncec, a postdoc in lab, where she describes her academic journey. Just out in this week's issue of @ScienceMagazine. Luck helped me pursue an academic career. I worry about others who aren’t as fortunate

We will continue exploring how RTK signaling regulates beta-TrCP activity and use our new reporter to screen for new small molecule inhibitors and activators of beta-TrCP. Many thanks to our great team and collaborators! 3/3.

We found beta-TrCP is a relatively weak ubiquitin ligase that remains constantly active throughout the cell cycle. We conducted a high-throughput screen and identified RTK signaling as a key modulator of beta-TrCP coupling to the core SCF complex. 2/3.

Excited to share our new paper out in @NatureComms, led by our postdoc Debasish Paul. We developed a biosensor for the ubiquitin ligase beta-TrCP to study its activity in live, single cells. 1/3.

My lab’s first paper is out in Science Advances! We uncover the origins of single-cell variability in cell fates after DNA damage. Huge thanks to the entire team who helped get this out despite a global pandemic.
